Experience the rich culture of the Nughi, Nunukul, and Goenpul clans firsthand at the Quandamooka Festival 2026. Taking place in September 2026, this free, family-friendly gathering on Minjerribah features traditional dance, music, workshops, and markets. Located just an hour from Brisbane, it offers local families an unforgettable weekend exploring Indigenous heritage.

Set against the island paradise backdrop of Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island), this multi-artform festival provides the special opportunity to experience the continuing culture of the Nughi, Nunukul, and Goenpul clans of Quandamooka firsthand.

The gathering will showcase a diverse lineup of cultural activities, Kunjiel (corroboree/ traditional dance), music performances, food, weaving, arts, crafts, markets, workshops, panel discussions, and more. All ages are welcome and tickets are free.

A short and easy ferry ride from the mainland, the festival is highly accessible from South East Queensland – only an hour’s drive from both Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
So whether you’re a local from Brisbane or visiting from afar, the festival promises an unforgettable cultural journey and a deeper understanding of Australia’s Indigenous heritage.
