Queensland Day – Lighting of Queensland icons
Queensland Day is an annual celebration of the state’s official separation from New South Wales in 1859, recognising its unique culture, heritage, and identity.
Each year on 6th June, key landmarks, icons, and buildings across Queensland are illuminated to mark the occasion, creating a spectacular display of state pride. From city skylines to regional monuments, the vibrant lights serve as a tribute to Queensland’s rich history and bright future.
All Queenslanders – businesses, community groups, organisations, schools, families, and sporting teams, are encouraged to come together, show their state pride and get involved in Queensland Day celebrations.
