Redlands Coast Christmas Trail 2026

Christmas is coming to Redlands Coast, with a trail of festive activities for everyone, from spectacular lighting displays and creative activities to family-friendly experiences.

Redlands Coast Lighting of the Christmas Tree
The Redlands Coast Lighting of the Christmas Tree returns over two nights, on Friday 27 and Saturday 28 November, from 4:30pm to 8:30pm at Raby Bay Harbour Park, Shore Street West, Cleveland. It officially launches the Christmas on Redlands Coast festive season. The free community celebration features carols, lighting displays, roving performers, food trucks and the lighting of the city’s Christmas tree. Families can get a free photo with Santa, and a Christmas movie in the park ends each night. Friday’s movie is The Santa Clause (rated G), and Saturday’s is Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (rated PG). Visitors are encouraged to bring a picnic rug or a small picnic and camping chair, with the front section set aside for blankets only. No bookings or tickets are required.

Redlands Coast Enchanted Christmas Garden
From Monday 30 November to Sunday 20 December, the Redlands IndigiScapes Centre on Runnymede Road, Capalaba, becomes an after-dark Christmas wonderland. Families can wander through illuminated garden trails, see festive displays and light installations, and take Christmas photos. Christmas-themed live entertainment is on from Friday to Sunday. Most visitors spend 30 to 60 minutes on the 500m trail, which has some uneven ground. Prams, wheelchairs and walkers are allowed.

The garden is open from 6pm to 10pm each night, with timed entry sessions every 15 minutes from 6:30pm and last entry at 9pm. Bookings are essential, and tickets will go on sale soon.

  • Monday to Thursday: $5 per person
  • Friday to Sunday: $10 per person
  • Groups of four or more booking together get 25% off on Friday to Sunday
  • Children under 1 are free, and one Companion Card holder can attend free with each paying guest
  • Booking and transaction fees apply, and there are no concession discounts

The IndigiScapes Café is open from 6pm to 8:30pm with grab-and-go food, and families can pre-purchase food packs when booking. Free parking is available. The event goes ahead in wet weather, and pets are not allowed, except for assistance animals.

Council Christmas programs and activities
Redland City Council locations are running a season full of fun and creativity. Libraries, the Redland Performing Arts Centre, Redland Art Gallery and the Redlands IndigiScapes Centre all have activities and experiences on offer, including crafty workshops, inspiring art and ways to explore the natural world.

Council supported Christmas events
Redland City Council is again supporting community events, including the Wellington Point Village Christmas Festival on Saturday 28 November and Christmas in the Park at Mount Cotton Community Park on Sunday 29 November.

Visitors are encouraged to support local businesses while they are out enjoying the festive fun, with a bite to eat or some Christmas shopping. Wineries, breweries, restaurants, cafes, outdoor adventures and natural attractions are all on offer around Redlands Coast.

Christmas Hub featuring Santa’s Hotline
From Friday 27 November 2026 until New Year, the Redlands Coast Visitor Information Centre at 50 Middle Street, Cleveland, becomes a Christmas hub. Families can meet the team, pick up a copy of the Christmas program and make a special call to Santa from the festive phone booth. Kids can pick up the phone, hear Santa’s warm voice and leave him a message with their wishes and the good deeds they’ve done this year. Children can also complete a festive colouring-in to be displayed in the centre’s window over the festive season.

Christmas lighting displays
Several locations light up each evening with Christmas displays, perfect for family photos. The lights run from 27 November until the New Year, from 5:30pm to 10pm each night:

  • Raby Bay Harbour Park: Redlands Coast Christmas Tree, icicles and tree lights
  • Wellington Point Village Green: giant 3D Christmas bauble
