For the first time, Brisbane welcomes the much-loved 15-metre-tall Rubber Duck to the Brisbane River/Maiwar.

The iconic Rubber Duck, a large-scale public artwork by internationally acclaimed Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman, arrives in a special Brisbane-exclusive hot pink edition, a first for the famous global art installation. The duck will make its way from the CBD, eventually settling near the Brisbane Powerhouse in New Farm.

A global phenomenon, Rubber Duck has captivated millions of people around the world, with hundreds of thousands gathering to experience the artwork in cities including Sydney, Hong Kong, Seoul, Osaka, Amsterdam and São Paulo. Friendly, familiar and universally recognisable, it knows no borders, its soft, playful and welcoming presence has a remarkable ability to dissolve tension and bring people together through moments of shared curiosity, delight and joy.

A highlight of the season will be the River Pride Parade on Saturday, October 24, 2026, when the giant duck takes to the water to lead a flotilla of party boats down the river.

Floating proudly on the Brisbane River / Maiwar, Rubber Duck transforms an everyday object into an extraordinary public artwork, free and open for everyone to experience.

When: floating from October 21st to November 8th, 2026, as a centrepiece of the Melt Festival.
