Runaway Bay Carols by Candlelight
The Runaway Bay Sports Fields light up this November 2026 for the Runaway Bay Carols by Candlelight. Families can spread out a picnic rug to sing along with a seven-piece live band, enjoy free face painting, meet roving holiday characters, and greet Santa before a festive fireworks show at 8pm.
Runaway Bay Carols by Candlelight 2026
Runaway Bay Carols by Candlelight is a free evening of Christmas carols, live entertainment, food vendors, family activities and a visit from Santa, ending with a fireworks finale at 8pm. Families are invited to bring a picnic rug and join Councillor Shelley Curtis for a magical night of Christmas cheer at the soccer fields on Lae Drive, Runaway Bay.
The night is hosted by John Kerr from Radio 94.1FM and Danielle Goullet from Australian Events & Entertainment. Performers include Brett Mills, Leah Lever, Jack Watson, Sharon Rowntree, Craig Martin and local school choirs, with a live seven-piece band, so there are plenty of Christmas classics to sing along to.
There is free face painting, plus food, drinks and sweet treats from onsite vendors. Glow products are available to buy, and roaming Christmas characters spread cheer throughout the night. Santa joins the crowd to help count down to the fireworks.
Visitors are encouraged to skip the parking hassle by taking public transport, walking or cycling.
