Samford Museum “This is Australia” Open Day
Samford Historical Museum invites the community to a special family day as it celebrates “This Is Australia” at the museum.
Held on Monday 26 January 2026, this free-entry event offers a relaxed and welcoming way to enjoy local history, hands-on activities and live entertainment in a heritage setting.
Visitors can enjoy a range of classic treats including a sausage sizzle, billy tea and damper, pie and peas, lamingtons, fruit cake, as well as coffee, tea and cold drinks available for purchase.
Entertainment and activities include Josiah’s Snake Show, performances by the Samford Grove Ukulele Band, and the chance to see Samford Garage’s restored Ford. Children can try on a replica Ned Kelly armour made by the museum’s blacksmith, enjoy caricatures by resident artist Paul, and take part in craft activities in the Slab Kitchen with Cynthia. The museum’s blacksmith, Martin, will also be helping children make rings and bracelets.
With plenty of activities for all ages, Samford Museum Day is a great opportunity for families to come together and celebrate Australian history and community.
