
World Environment Day @ Pooh Corner Bushland Reserve
Celebrate World Environment Day with a free, family-friendly event on Sunday 1 June from 8:30am to 12:00pm. Guests of all ages are invited to enjoy a morning of engaging activities, including a free wildlife show, live music, and a sausage sizzle.
Highlights include the Koala Naming Competition presentations and a display of entries from the Jamboree Ward Photography Competition, where attendees can cast their vote for the People’s Choice Award.
The schedule for the day is as follows:
- 7:00am – 8:30am: Guided bird walk (booking required)
- 8:30am – 11:30am: Children’s Nature Search
- 9:00am: Welcome and Acknowledgement of Country
- 9:10am – 9:40am: Koala presentation on the Pooh Corner re-population project
- 10:00am – 10:45am: Geckoes Wildlife Show or Koala Walk
- 11:00am – 11:45am: Koala Walk or Geckoes Wildlife Show
- 11:50am: Announcement of the Photography Competition winner
This event offers a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature, learn about local wildlife, and celebrate the environment in a relaxed community setting.
