Give Your Child a Holiday That Inspires Growth

Give your child a holiday experience that’s more than just fun. Sunrise Peak Psychology’s Adventure Therapy Holiday Programs combine exciting outdoor activities with therapeutic approaches to support personal growth. Designed for children and teens aged 8–18, these programs help participants build confidence, develop social skills, and enhance resilience in a supportive, nature-based setting.

With guidance from professional psychologists and counsellors, each session provides a safe environment where young people can explore the outdoors, connect with peers, and gain valuable life skills. Whether through team challenges, creative activities, or mindful reflection, every moment is designed to inspire growth, foster emotional well-being, and create lasting memories.

What Are Adventure Therapy Holiday Programs?

Adventure Therapy is an evidence-based approach that uses outdoor activities to support emotional, social, and personal development. Sunrise Peak’s programs take place in Brisbane’s beautiful natural settings, including Toohey Forest, Mount Coot-Tha, and Enoggera Reservoir.

Each three-hour session is packed with activities to encourage teamwork, problem-solving, and confidence-building. With small group sizes (maximum 10 participants) and three trained facilitators per session, your child will receive individual attention while forming meaningful connections with peers.

Parents often tell the Sunrise Peak Psychology team how much their children benefit from stepping away from their screens, outside their comfort zones, and into nature. The combination of fun, fresh air, and therapeutic support creates an unforgettable experience that boosts self-esteem and emotional resilience.

Activities On Offer

1. Nature-Based Team Challenges

Participants will work together to navigate obstacle courses, solve scavenger hunts, and complete adventure races. These challenges promote teamwork, communication, and creative problem-solving while building confidence. Every challenge is designed to encourage collaboration and make learning fun.

2. Bushcraft Skills and Nature Craft

Children will get hands-on experience with bushcraft techniques such as shelter-building, helping them develop practical skills and self-reliance. Nature craft activities, like creating art from found natural materials, encourage mindfulness, creativity, and a sense of connection to the environment.

3. Forest Exploration and Treasure Hunts

Guided by maps and clues, participants will explore Brisbane’s green spaces through activities such as scavenger hunts and geocaching. These adventures encourage curiosity and resilience, teaching children to adapt to challenges while deepening their connection to the natural world.

4. Emotional Regulation and Reflection

Each session begins and ends with a group reflection, where children learn to identify and express their emotions. Guided by Sunrise Peak Psychology’s trained therapists, this safe space fosters emotional intelligence, confidence, and a sense of belonging.
