Set in the beautiful Seven Hill Hub in a safe and collaborative environment, your young artist will explore something new, learn new performance techniques, meet other like-minded young creatives, and have FUN creating something.
December Holiday Young Creators Camp (16th – 18th December 2024)
Calling all drama enthusiasts… This holidays, Backbone welcomes you to the sunny, safe, Seven Hills Hub for a creative adventure!
Backbone’s Young Creators Holiday Camp is a 3-day collaborative adventure for young people aged 7-11 years. With a focus on creative fun, your Young Artist
will have the opportunity to learn from industry professionals, build performance skills, and meet other like-minded stars.
Over three days Young Creators will adventure into skills of theatre, puppetry, and storytelling in an invigorating and safe space, led by professional artists.
On the final day, everyone will welcome Queensland Ballet to host their Coding to MOVE workshop. This workshop combines computer coding and choreography as participants meet a dancing robot and explore creating their own movements based on pre-programmed or ‘coded’ instructions.
In the welcoming and inclusive space of the Seven Hills Hub, Backbone will make all creatives feel safe to collaborate and explore. It’s time to get up on your feet, get moving, get making and get creating!
DATES: 16-18th December, 2024
TIME: 9:30 am – 4:00 pm (drop off from 9:15 am, pick up from 3:30 pm)
THREE DAY REGISTRATION COST: $350 – includes lunch on each day (BYO snacks)
SINGLE DAY REGISTRATION COST: $150 per day – includes lunch (BYO snacks)
AGE: 7 – 11 years

WHAT TO BRING: Please bring your own snacks, comfortable clothes to move in, and a water bottle.

Ongoing Drama Workshops: Young Creators Workshops
If you’re looking for a place for your Young Creative to regularly meet with peers, learn performance skills, and create new performances about topics that matter to them; Backbone hosts 90-minute regular Drama workshops every Saturday in line with Queensland School Terms. Backbone’s Young Creators Workshops are an invigorating, creative, and uplifting space for young people aged 7 to 18 to engage with imagination, playfulness, and learning through creative arts.
Term 4 starts on Saturday, October 5th, 2024.
