Project Immersive Escape Rooms are on a new level in Brisbane. Themed around a spooky, secret science facility, they have won the most awards of any escape room in Queensland and it shows!
A Unique Challenge for Both You and Your Teens
Where as most escape rooms will ask you to step into a themed room and solve puzzles, Project Immersive takes it a few extra steps to make it feel like you’re actually stepping into a secret facility.
When you arrive, you will be greeted by a scientist (in character) who will help draw you into the story. By the time to step into the game to solve puzzles, you will be fully inducted as a new ‘Emergency Contractor’ who is there to fix all the problems in the facility.
A Very Different Location
Project Immersive is located in the old abandoned Paint Factory in Yeronga. The old building is the perfect backdrop for their games. It feels like a creepy old abandoned laboratory, because it is a creepy old abandoned laboratory!
Augmented by movie quality lighting and an incredibly impressive sound system, it does almost make you feel like you’re actually in a secret facility.
Perfect for Ages 12 and Up
Project Immersive does have an age limit on their games. Anyone under the age of 14 does require an adult with them. But if you’re happy to join for some exciting problem solving, then it’s quite a unique activity for the whole family.
The game The Portal is perfect for beginners, but it’s scary. It has sudden loud noises, flashing lights and some mild sci-fi horror (but there is no blood or gore).
The second game Nuclear Enrichment has more technical things to play with. Lights, switches, dials, levers and even lasers!
If you have a group of 15-16 year old kids who think they’re tough, we recommend getting them to play an 8:30pm session of The Portal without their parents, and see if they’re as tough as they claim.

A Local Business on the World Stage
Project Immersive is a small, arts based business that only started in 2023, but in that short time, they’ve received multiple awards from organisations in Queensland, and from overseas in America and Europe for their games.
They are featured on Morty.app “Every Escape Room Everywhere” as top games in the world for 2023/24/25. And they’re the first ever finalists in Queensland for the Top Escape Room Project, with only five other Escape Rooms across Sydney and Melbourne making the cut.
A Business by Nerds & Artists
Project Immersive Escape Rooms has been built from the ground up by a small team of locals who have eclectic interests, hobbies and jobs. From playing Dungeons and Dragons, wiring and coding, to performing on stage at QPAC, the owners are wonderful and enthusiastic people to chat to about where they’ve come from. It’s the perfect inspiration for kids with nerdy interests who don’t quite know what they want to do when they grow up.
Accolades
They have won a LOT of awards compared to any other Escape Room in Brisbane including:
- QTIC Best of Queensland Experience in 2024/25
- Top Escape Room Project finalist nomination in 2025
- Morty.app ‘Best Games in the World’ in 2023/24/25.
They are also the only Escape Room in Australia that does what’s known in the industry as a ‘Cold Start.’ You start the game immediately from when you drive into the car park!
Testimonials
Immersive is the word. Having found our way upstairs in a non-descript building at an industrial site, we were thrown into the experience, โNuclear Enrichmentโ, as we were greeted by our in-character host. He handled my group of four loud and excited 11 year olds like a trooper. The challenge itself was a lot of fun and our host gave me a few tips over the walkie talkie so the kids were never completely stuck. Thanks Tim! ~ John (Google Reviews)
30% theatre, 70% escape room, 100% recommended! Couldn’t stop laughing. Such a unique experience! Not a lot of riddles, so perfect for beginners. But there is still a lot to see and you will likely “lose time” to appreciate the atmosphere and environment. Amazing use of the space (old factory)! ~ Alcha (Morty Reviews)
I cannot recommend this room enough. The immersion starts before you even enter the building, and the interactions within the escape room experience were SO so good. Wickedly so. One of my favourite escape room experiences to date! – EscapeRoomExplorer
Frequently Asked Questions
Are your games suitable for children?
The games are ideally designed for ages 15 and up as they do contain dark spaces, loud noises, flashing lights and occasional adult themes. You can compare them to a PG13+ movie.
However, we have had families with children come play, and the children have really enjoyed themselves with the safety and support of family around them. But we do leave this up to parental discretion.
NB. Any groups of children under the age of 14 must have an accompanying adult.
