Theatre & Dance Classes for Children
Mummy & Me (1.5 – 3 years)
The Theatre & Dance teachers have spent a great deal of time developing a program that specifically caters to little ones from 18 months to 3 years of age. Mummy & Me is the first level in their Junior School program and is a fun class for little kids who are keen to experience dance for the first time but not quite ready to be in a class by themselves.
This great class offers everything from beginning ballet and junior jazz to creative movement, singing and storytelling, enabling little dancers to enjoy a magical experience with the security of the people they love the best right by their side.
Preschool Classes (3 – 5 years)
With Theatre & Dance’s Preschool Classes, children will experience the joy of ballet, the fun and excitement of jazz, develop a sense of rhythm and a good listening ear from tap dancing, and learn about their voice as they sing their way through some great (and age appropriate) kids’ songs.
Emphasis is placed on having fun whilst getting a taste and appreciation of all the different dance and performance styles that are on offer at Theatre & Dance.
Classes for School Aged Children (6+ years)
Theatre & Dance offers COMDANCE technique classes in jazz, tap, ballet, singing, and musical theatre, as well as acrobatics, and these classes go hand in hand with performance classes. Children will enjoy the challenge of developing their technique through learning the COMDANCE syllabus and the excitement of sitting their exams if they choose.
There are a number of exciting performance opportunities throughout the year – eisteddfods, community events and a dazzling annual concert at a professional venue.
