  • AboutBrisbane Kids Creative was created by me! Ngaire Stirling. I wont pretend to talk in the third person about myself, instead let me tell you a bit about me and how 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came about. At the time the domain name 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for purchase I was a stay at home mum in the middle of a degree centred around journalism and PR. a couple of years earlier I had been contemplating returning to my previous career in marketing management and for a while I even tried. 3 months into a new role and it was clear that I had no passion for my old life and to make the decision to quit easier, my almost 2 year old at the time was not coping with childcare. So, as a family we made the decision for me to return to becoming a stay at home mum. About 1 years later or so.. 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for sale. My friends had often commented on my ability to know exactly what was happening in Brisbane for kids. I had my son enrolled in some awesome activities and we often visited some great destinations. I loved finding fun things for us to doโ€ฆ

Pirate Ship Park Flagstone

Last updated: September 11, 2025

If you have a pirate mad child at home, this is a playground you need to add to your park bucket list. For hours of pirate fuelled fun, head west to the seriously fun Flagstone Pirate Ship Park.

Pirate Ship Park Flagstone Playground

Flagstone Pirate Park is probably one of Brisbaneโ€™s best pirate-themed playgrounds. Upon arrival your eye will be drawn to the 18-meter-long, two-level pirate ship suited to kindergarten and primary school-aged kids.

The upper level of the structure is easily accessible by stairs and cargo netting. It has a plastic slide for racing and a single, super-fast metal slide for the daring. Another way to descend is the sliding pole. The upper level also has a suspended balancing board, which weโ€™ve not seen in a playground before.

Underneath the pirate ship are numerous small hammocks for when the pirates need a quiet minute or two. There are also treasure chests to hide new treasures in, a letterbox to send maps through and an interactive wall. Hidden about the play space are markers as part of a treasure map. See if they can find them all.

Adjacent to the pirate ship is a swing set with a standard swing and a toddler swing. There are also small rubber mounds to climb. A grassy knoll offers an excellent place for a picnic, rolling down the hill or a game of tag.

Imagination Factor at Pirate Ship Park Flagstone

Itโ€™s hard to find anything more inspiring than a giant pirate ship! Let your little pirates run amok, sail the seven seas, start a mutiny, or fire cannons. They can also peer through the spyglasses, search for lost treasure, hide new treasures and steer the ship to safety. They can also expel their energy by jumping from island to island, climbing the cargo nets, escaping sharks and slipping down the slides. Fun, fun, fun.

Accessibility at Pirate Ship Park Flagstone

The Pirate Ship Park is a fantastic playground but itโ€™s not particularly inclusive for those with physical limitations. There also isnโ€™t a lot for toddlers to do independently. Toddlers will be able to access the upper level of the pirate ship; however, they would need to be within armโ€™s reach because of the gaps in the flooring.

As the park is situated in a residential estate, there isnโ€™t a carpark for the playground, nor is there a toilet.

Roadways are near to the park, and the playground is unfenced, so extra caution and supervision should be utilised.

Owing to the size of the structure it is partially shaded; however, the surface of the pirate ship can become hot. Shoes would be essential in the warmer months and during peak UV times. It would be ideal for visiting outside of these times.
