Skywhales Sunshine Coast
The Skywhales are coming to the Sunshine Coast for one of their first-ever presentations in South-East Queensland, bringing with them a breathtaking experience like no other. Touring from the National Gallery of Australia, Patricia Piccinini’s monumental hot air balloon sculptures – Skywhale and Skywhalepapa will float above the dawn skies at the University of the Sunshine Coast.
These awe-inspiring creations represent themes of nature, evolution, care, family, and wonder, offering a magical and uplifting moment for visitors of all ages. Families are encouraged to pack a picnic, gather early, and share in this extraordinary experience as the skywhale family gently drifts above the coastal landscape.
This rare event offers a special chance for regional audiences to witness the skywhales up close in their own community.
Registrations are essential, as session times and dates are subject to weather conditions.
