Tamborine Mountain Scarecrow Festival 2026
For one wonderfully weird weekend each spring, Tamborine Mountain is taken over by scarecrows, hundreds of them. The Tamborine Mountain Scarecrow Festival is an annual celebration of the mountain lifestyle, with locals, families, schools, community groups and businesses creating scarecrows ranging from the traditional to the clever, colourful and completely bonkers.
Visitors can follow the Spot the Scarecrow Discovery Trail, a free, self guided treasure hunt around homes and businesses displaying scarecrows of every kind. There’s a serious-ish competitive streak too, with categories including Creative, Traditional, Business, Family, Child, Celebrity and First Time in Field, culminating in the coveted Best in Show.
While the trail itself is free, the festival also includes a ticketed celebration event at Cauldron Distillery. The afternoon features Highland cows, live music, food vans, market stalls from local makers and producers, performances by local stage groups, the Scarecrow Festival presentations and awards, and drinks from Cauldron Distillery.
Families are encouraged to bring a chair or picnic blanket and settle in for the afternoon. Gates open at 12:30pm for a 1pm start.
Tickets are on sale now, with options including a Family Pass (2 adults and 4 children), General Admission, a Child Ticket (under 12), and limited VIP seating.
