  • AboutBrisbane Kids Creative was created by me! Ngaire Stirling. I wont pretend to talk in the third person about myself, instead let me tell you a bit about me and how 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came about. At the time the domain name 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for purchase I was a stay at home mum in the middle of a degree centred around journalism and PR. a couple of years earlier I had been contemplating returning to my previous career in marketing management and for a while I even tried. 3 months into a new role and it was clear that I had no passion for my old life and to make the decision to quit easier, my almost 2 year old at the time was not coping with childcare. So, as a family we made the decision for me to return to becoming a stay at home mum. About 1 years later or so.. 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for sale. My friends had often commented on my ability to know exactly what was happening in Brisbane for kids. I had my son enrolled in some awesome activities and we often visited some great destinations. I loved finding fun things for us to do…

Clayton Park in Beachmere

Last updated: September 2, 2026

If you’re looking for a fenced in playground, next to the beach foreshore, near a coffee shop, with free parking and somewhere that kids can climb, swing, slide and explore, then Clayton Park in Beachmere ticks all of these boxes.

Clayton Park, Beachmere

With a nature-inspired theme, a mixture of climbing equipment, slides and swings, and plenty of seating for parents, Clayton Park is one of those playgrounds worth adding to your list if you’re heading north of Brisbane.

There are lots of benches within the fenced playground, shaded by the surrounding trees, as well as sandstone block seating for parents. Outside the fence, you’ll find covered picnic tables and additional seating, with one picnic area also featuring a BBQ, making it an ideal spot for birthdays, family gatherings or other celebrations.

The playground’s main structure has three slides, including a larger slide that can be accessed from the climbing tower. There are also plenty of opportunities for little ones to climb, balance and test their skills, with rope netting walkways, monkey bars and wall-climbing elements incorporated into the playground.

Kids can tackle rock-climbing panels, steppingstones and various climbing structures, as well as a fireman’s pole.

There are three swings to choose from, including two standard swings, one with a harnessed half-moon enclosed seat for younger children and another with a saddle strap. There’s also a rope swing seat designed for multiple children to sit on together.

A large shade sail provides cover over one section of the playground, including the roundabout and swings. This may also help children move between the different sections of the play area without being in direct sunlight on hot days.

Toilets are located nearby, along with free car parking and additional street parking. The playground sit adjacent to a bowls club, close to the beachfront and a café, so there are plenty of nearby options if you want to grab a coffee or something to eat.

Outside the playground is a large grassy area, which is ideal for ball games, running around or simply letting the kids burn off some energy.

Imagination Factor

There are plenty of little details throughout Clayton Park that can help spark imaginative play. The cut-out window panels, along with the lookout-style windows on the tower, give children opportunities to peer out over the playground and perhaps imagine they’re exploring a treehouse.

Throughout the play structure, leaf, sun, animal, flower and other nature-inspired elements have been incorporated, which may encourage children to create their own nature-themed adventures.

Steppingstones are dotted around the playground, adding another balancing challenge for children. They could also easily become part of a game of ‘the floor is lava’ as kids make their way around without touching the ground.

Accessibility

A floor-level, wheelchair-friendly carousel provides an accessible play option for children who are unable to climb, while a nest-style swing provides another option.

However, much of the playground uses bark flooring, which can make access more difficult for children using wheelchairs or mobility aids, as well as for prams.

4 in a row play equipment

There are a range of ground-level activities, including a Four in a Row game, although the main climbing structure is accessed via steps, ropes and climbing equipment.

Accessible toilets are located next to the playground, and there is disabled parking nearby.

What We Love About Clayton Park

Clayton Park is a great option for families looking to combine playground time with a trip to the beach or Bribie Island. The fenced playground offers a good mix of climbing, balancing, swinging and sliding activities, while the surrounding trees, grassy areas and nature-inspired features add to the appeal.

We also love the convenient location, with free parking, toilets, picnic facilities and a BBQ close by. Being within easy reach of the beachfront and a café means you can turn a playground visit into a longer family outing.

For families with children of different ages, there are plenty of different play options to keep everyone moving, from toddler-friendly equipment through to more challenging climbing elements for bigger kids.

Make a day of your visit to Beachmere by heading down to the nearby foreshore after playtime. The large grassy areas around Clayton Park are perfect for picnics or ball games, while the nearby beach provides another opportunity for kids to explore and burn off some energy.

You can also grab a coffee or something to eat at the nearby café, making Clayton Park a convenient stop for a morning or afternoon outing.

While You Are In The Area

While you are in the area, you might like to do a short 25-minute drive to check out Bongaree Beach on Bribie Island or the rest of Bribie Island. Here are some other beaches near Brisbane. The open grassed area is adjacent to the park and has many facilities available, such as a dog park, and a nearby large skate park that offers a range of features that cater to different riding styles and abilities. Bribie Island is also home to the Bribie Island Museum and the Bribie Island Butterfly House.

The playground is also next door to Beachmere Caravan Park for those who were planning on visiting as part of a bigger trip up the coast.

How To Get To Clayton Park

Clayton Park is located in Beachmere, north of Brisbane. The playground is accessible by car and close to Beachmere foreshore.

Clayton Park is located at 10 Biggs Avenue, Beachmere, Qld 4510.
