  • AboutBrisbane Kids Creative was created by me! Ngaire Stirling. I wont pretend to talk in the third person about myself, instead let me tell you a bit about me and how 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came about. At the time the domain name 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for purchase I was a stay at home mum in the middle of a degree centred around journalism and PR. a couple of years earlier I had been contemplating returning to my previous career in marketing management and for a while I even tried. 3 months into a new role and it was clear that I had no passion for my old life and to make the decision to quit easier, my almost 2 year old at the time was not coping with childcare. So, as a family we made the decision for me to return to becoming a stay at home mum. About 1 years later or so.. 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for sale. My friends had often commented on my ability to know exactly what was happening in Brisbane for kids. I had my son enrolled in some awesome activities and we often visited some great destinations. I loved finding fun things for us to doโ€ฆ

The Alley Cafe, Everton Park – Reviewed

Last updated: May 13, 2016
The Alley Cafe Everton Park

Nestled within the school grounds of Northside Christian College is an oasis for parents, in the form of The Alley Cafe.

This unassuming cafe offers a place for tired parents to get their much-needed caffeine hit, whileย children burn off some energy in theย well-equipped and fencedย playground.

Getting to The Alley Cafe

To reach the cafe, drive into the grounds of Northside Christian College from Flockton Street, Everton Park. Continue along the internal road, following the signs, until you reach Carpark 3. This is the best spot to park as it is directly across from the cafe, and is easily accessible if you have a pram. The cafe is tucked away, so you will probably spot the colourful playground first! There is a large, undercover eating area with chairs, tables and highchairs available. In the prayer chapel, located adjacent to the cafe, are toilets and change tables for public use.

Coffee, food and fun at The Alley Cafe

The Alley uses Brisbane-based Wolff coffee beans, and if you can’t get enough of them in your coffee cup, you can purchase a bag of coffee beans to take home. The coffee is well-priced and well made by their friendlyย staff. There is also a selection of cold-pressed coffees, tea, Charlie’s juices and softdrinks. Kids are not forgotten with milkshakes and babycinos on the menu, served with marshmallows.

The food menu is limited, but does include a varietyย of Everyday Gourmet sandwiches and wraps, as well as homemade muffins and biscuits, and a selection of fruit.

The biggest draw card, however, is the large and fully fenced playground. The playground is easily visible from the seating area, thanks to the glass fencing. Suited to children under five years of age, there’s enough play equipment to keep them happily occupied for some time.

The Alley Cafe is run as an outreach of the Nexus Church, and so any profits generated are put back into the cafe. There are plans for new seating and refurbishments in the near future. Ten percent of profits go to local missions, such as breakfast programs which are run by the church.
