Over the last 13 years the Bellbowrie Tavern, situated in Brisbaneโs leafy outer west,
has become the heart of the community providing families with a convenient and kid
friendly place to dine. The tavern serves up traditional Australian pub fare in a large
and modern space which also boasts a kidsโ games room and indoor playground
plus some fun inclusions for the grown ups too.
The Space
The Bellbowrie Tavern offers three different spaces to enjoy including an open air
terrace, a spacious indoor bistro and a sports bar.
The nicely decked out kidsโ play area is located to the rear of the restaurant with nearby seating options and glass walls to allow for supervision. Be sure to pick the dining area which suits your needs as the indoor space can become rather lively while the alfresco dining area allows for a more tranquil dining experience.
The inclusion of the kidsโ play area and other thoughtful additions such as colouring in pages and free activity bags, creates a welcoming environment and makes dining out seem a little less daunting!
Itโs worth noting, there are a number of television screens situated around the dining area and in the games room which can cause unwanted distractions at eating time.
The Kidsโ Menu
Young diners can select from a range of classics such as chicken nuggets, spaghetti
bolognese, fish and chips and a cheeseburger. Meals are adequately priced
considering they also include a drink and mini ice cream dessert.
Kidsโ meals are generally brought out quickly and before adult meals, which keeps the waiting and whinging to a minimum โ a win in our books! Thereโs also a cute, gelato cart for an extra special after dinner treat.
There is value for money to be found on special dining nights, most notably on Thursdays where kids meals are free with every adult meal purchased (current as of June 2026).
The Parent Factor
This local tavern is a favourite for parents due to its relaxed atmosphere and kid
friendly considerations. The seasonal menu contains loads of variety from dry aged
beef to salads, seafood and pizza.
While it is a great venue for families with younger children, there is also plenty on offer for grown kids including the newly installed digital darts and golf stations. Youโre also almost guaranteed to be able to catch your favourite sporting team on the big screen which makes for an enjoyable family day out.
