Scenic Park in Brookwater features a playground located in a lovely tranquil spot surrounded by trees and gardens. With separate play equipment for different ages, it is perfect for the whole family!
Scenic Park Playground
Scenic Park is set in a lovely green area of the Brookwater development, surrounded by mature trees. A large section of the park (towards Pardalote Drive) features pathways through the trees and is great for exploring nature on a mini bushwalk, or going for a ride in a bushland setting. The park is designed on a split-level area, and although unfenced, it is set down from the quiet road.
There are two playgrounds within the park, suited to two different age groups of Brisbane Kids, so everyone can find something to enjoy. The playground for younger kids features toddler swings, a seesaw, a fort with climbing net and slide, and a huge, covered sandpit. The playground for older kids has swings, a spinner and a fort with climbing nets, linked by bridges and a hand-held glide ride.
The park also has a half-court basketball so kids can enjoy shooting some hoops and a lovely, huge open area for running around or ball games. There are two picnic table areas (one under cover) and an electric BBQ, perfect for a lovely family lunch surrounded by greenery. This park has everything you need for a beautiful family day out or kid’s birthday party, except for toilets, which we understand are located at some shops nearby.
Imagination Factor
The natural setting and beautiful surroundings of Scenic Park make for some fun wildlife-spotting park ranger play for younger Brisbane Kids. The sandpit is a great space for setting up a mini world, complete with roads, tunnels, forests, and houses. The forts with their linking bridges, are perfect for playing knights in castles or sailors on boats, keeping a lookout for dragons or crocodiles below! Older kids will also love to test each other out doing a loop of all the equipment to see who wins their own ninja warriors challenge!
Accessibility
Scenic Park, unfortunately, has no public toilet facilities. The playground is unfenced. There are bike and walking paths around the park suitable for Brisbane Kids in prams or wheelchairs or testing out their riding skills. The paths link the park with other areas nearby, making it accessible from many different residential areas or a great place to stop for a play during a lovely, long walk. Picnic shelters with tables and a barbecue and lots of shade also feature.
