Brickman Cities powered by LEGO® City reviewed
LEGO ® lovers – if you are visiting the gorgeous Sunshine Coast from the 2nd of April 2022, be sure to grab a ticket and discover Brickman Cities powered by LEGO® City at The Wharf, Mooloolaba.
This totally awesome display from Ryan ‘The Brickman’ McNaught, showcases landmarks from four iconic cities – Sydney, London, Tokyo and Dubai and is an intimate experience that took over 2,500 hours to create, using more than one million LEGO bricks.
The large display area (separate from SEA LIFE) is broken up into four areas, with each area belonging to a ‘city.’ Large landmarks, including the Sydney Tower, the Shard and the Burj Khalifa, sit atop a massive table that houses thousands of LEGO pieces, waiting for little LEGO masters to create and build. There is a suggested activity prompt or they can let loose and free build.
In addition, and perhaps considered the centrepiece, is a 1:600 scale model of Manhattan, made from over 200,000 white LEGO bricks. Visitors can walk around the model watching it light up as 3D stories are projected onto it. The detail is just phenomenal!
Fans of LEGO fire stations will enjoy witnessing how the humble yellow fire station has evolved over the years, and just how much money these fire station sets sold for initially and how much they fetch now.
Young and old fans of LEGO can roam the displays, discovering something new and unique each time, from a man mowing the lawn, to buskers and even a skeleton under the building. When they tire of just looking, they can get hands-on and create their own masterpiece at one of the many free build areas.
