  • AboutBrisbane Kids Creative was created by me! Ngaire Stirling. I wont pretend to talk in the third person about myself, instead let me tell you a bit about me and how 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came about. At the time the domain name 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for purchase I was a stay at home mum in the middle of a degree centred around journalism and PR. a couple of years earlier I had been contemplating returning to my previous career in marketing management and for a while I even tried. 3 months into a new role and it was clear that I had no passion for my old life and to make the decision to quit easier, my almost 2 year old at the time was not coping with childcare. So, as a family we made the decision for me to return to becoming a stay at home mum. About 1 years later or so.. 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for sale. My friends had often commented on my ability to know exactly what was happening in Brisbane for kids. I had my son enrolled in some awesome activities and we often visited some great destinations. I loved finding fun things for us to do…

Cheepy Chick Pop-Up Card & Easy-Peasy Daffodils │ Easter Craft

Last updated: April 3, 2014
Easter Card and Flower Craft

Help your Brisbane Kid to spoil someone special these Easter craft ideas! This cute chick card with its fun moving beak and this super easy bunch of daffodils are the perfect way to brighten up anyone’s autumn morning!

Cheepy Chick Pop-Up Card

Easter Card Craft

You Will Need:

  • A large sheet of card or heavy paper
  • Scissors
  • Colouring pens
  • Optional items for decoration: craft eyes, feathers, patterned or painted paper or card, ribbon, glue, etc.

How to Make a Pop up Easter Card craft

Step 1

Easter Card Craft

Fold the card in half, then in half again.

Step 2

Easter Card Craft

Open the card out and cut a small line close to the centre of the page.

Step 3

Easter Card Craft

Fold back a triangle of card from above and below the cut. Bend each triangle back and forth several times to reinforce the folds.

Step 4

Easter Card Craft

Fold the card back over again, with the triangle part on the inside. Then pull out and pinch the triangles to form the chick’s beak.

Step 5

Easter Card Craft

Draw your chick around the beak. You can glue on craft eyes and feathers to bring your chick to life. You can also add a personal message inside the card, perhaps coming from a speech bubble from the chick’s beak!

Step 6

Easter Card Craft

Decorate the front of your card. We cut an Easter egg shape from a kindy painting and decorated it with ribbon and other craft leftovers.

Easter Flower Craft

You Will Need:

  • Some drinking straws (or bamboo skewers)
  • An egg carton
  • Scissors
  • Paints
  • Glue
  • Drawing pins (optional)

How to Make a Bunch of Flowers from an Egg Carton

Step 1

Easter Flower Craft

Cut out an equal number of pointy cones and egg holders from the egg carton.

Step 2

Easter Flower Craft

Paint the egg box parts. Yellow for the holders and orange for the cones works well, but imaginative kids can let their creativity loose! (If you do not have coloured straws, you can paint the straws green too.)

Step 3

Easter Flower Craft

Glue the cones into the holders to create the flower heads and leave to dry.

Step 4

Easter Flower Craft

Pin or glue the straws onto the flower heads.

Step 5

Easter Card and Flower Craft

Add a cuppa and HCB for the perfect surprise breakfast in bed!
