Hone your BMX skills at one of Brisbane’s best BMX Parks at Darra. The Darra BMX park is suited to everyone from beginner riders to professional BMX riders. This is a free BMX course open to the community for those wanting to practice their tricks or just have fun riding around the track.
Darra BMX Park
There are two different loops for riders at the Darra BMX Park, with one perfect for young children, and the other for those who are a little older.
Each loop has three options, with entry-level, intermediate and advanced runs which is great for parents who have kids of varying ages and abilities.
While this is labelled as a BMX Park, and as such is mainly used by bike riders, it is also perfect for scooters and challenging for more experienced skateboarders.
From time to time Brisbane City Council hold BMX Skill sessions at this facility, which are popular with the kids as they are usually held in the school holidays. Check out their website for current dates.
Accessibility at Darra BMX Park
There is a massive fig tree near the track that provides some shade and is a great spot to set up a picnic blanket and relax while your older children have fun on the BMX tracks. Alternatively, there are two covered picnic shelters by the track.
An accessible toilet is available on site, with concrete paths leading from the car park, to the toilet and picnic shelters.

BMX Safety
Any time you get on a bike safety precautions should be at the forefront of your mind, especially when children are concerned.
BMX riding in particular demands appropriate safety gear. At minimum riders should be wearing a helmet, enclosed footwear and comfortable clothing. Some may even like to level-up with elbow and knee pads.
Before hitting the tracks, discuss basic riding courtesy with your riders. Encourage everyone to use their manners, ride in the same direction, avoid bumping into other riders, and last but not least, have fun!
It is also a great idea to bring along sun protection, a first aid kit, bike repair kit and plenty of water. BMX riding is thirsty work!
The Monier Park Playground
For parents with BMX riders and kids of younger ages, you will love the playground which sits alongside this amazing Brisbane BMX track.
Featuring a colourful ninja-style playspace, the playground also has a shaded sitting area and swings.
While You Are in the Area
For a cool playground nearby we suggest visiting Rocks Riverside Park, where you will find waterplay, playgrounds for different age groups and even a Liberty swing.
Another playground nearby that we have enjoyed is Tom O’Neill Park which offers swings, slides and a flying fox.
