Bluey's Big Play

See Bluey, Bingo, Bandit, and Chilli come to life on stage as Bluey’s Big Play returns to QPAC in South Brisbane this January 2027. Local families can enjoy an original storyline, incredible puppetry, and familiar music in a hilarious live theatrical show created specifically for kids of all ages.

Bluey’s Big Play

The return of the hit stage show, Bluey’s Big Play, for real life. From New York’s Madison Square Garden to London’s Royal Festival Hall, Bluey’s Big Play has delighted fans across the globe, and now it returns home to Australia for an encore tour.

When Dad feels like a little bit of afternoon time out, Bluey and Bingo have other plans! Join them as they pull out all of the games and cleverness at their disposal to get Dad off that bean bag.

Bluey’s Big Play is a theatrical adaptation of the Emmy® award-winning children’s television series, with an original story by Bluey creator Joe Brumm and new music by Bluey composer Joff Bush. Join Bluey and her family in their first live theatre show made just for you, featuring brilliantly created puppets. This is Bluey as you’ve never seen it before, brought to real life.

Age recommendation
Recommended for all ages. Children under 18 months at the time of the show are free on the knee.

Warning
This performance contains smoke, haze and strobe lighting.

Audience participation
After the performance, some audience members will have the chance to join in games of “Keepy Uppy”, one using air-filled balls (made from materials free of BPA, latex and PVC) and another using bubbles (with a non-staining solution). As with many children’s games, Keepy Uppy can sometimes become boisterous and unpredictable. For safety reasons, only audience members seated in the stalls can take part. Other areas of the theatre will not be able to join in. Anyone who prefers not to take part is encouraged to leave the theatre after the curtain call.

Relaxed performance: Tuesday 19 January 2027, 12:30pm
Relaxed performances are for anyone who would benefit from a more relaxed environment, including people with autism, sensory sensitivities, learning disabilities or dementia, as well as those living with anxiety or who have experienced trauma. The Visual Story, Access and Audio guides can help visitors get to know the venue before the show, and more information is available on accessibility at QPAC.

Audio described performance: Thursday 21 January 2027, 12:30pm
Trained audio describers give a commentary with short descriptions of actions, expressions and gestures for patrons who are blind or have low vision. The description is sent through a discreet headset using radio frequency.
