Cowboys & Country at Historic Rivermill
Cowboys & Country turns the paddocks at Historic Rivermill country for the day, running on selected Saturdays at Mount Nathan in the Gold Coast Hinterland. It’s just 30 minutes from central Gold Coast, an hour from Brisbane, at the foot of Tamborine Mountain. This family-friendly event celebrates country culture with a range of entertainment and hands-on activities throughout the venue.
Line dancing runs on the lawn, taught from the first step, with no partner and no experience needed. A reptile show brings Australian snakes and lizards up close with a licensed handler, and whip cracking demonstrations run through the day.
There are led horse rides for children and adults, and alpacas and goats to feed by hand from a $5 feed bag. Down on the river jetty, turtle feeding runs at $12 a person with a guide beside you. A mechanical bull runs at $10 a ride, and there’s a jumping castle and kids corner for the little ones.
Market stalls line the riverside lawn with local growers and makers, and the café and barbecue run through the day.
Entry is free and no booking is needed. Parking is $5 per vehicle, paid on arrival.
