2026 Gold Coast Australia Day Celebrations

Australia Day is an opportunity for Australians to reflect, respect, and celebrate the nation’s history, culture, and community. It’s a day to connect with family and friends or participate in a local Australia Day event.

The 2026 Gold Coast Australia Day Celebrations will take place at the HOTA Outdoor Stage on Sunday, 26th January. Following an invite-only citizenship ceremony, the free, family-friendly event begins at 4pm and runs until 8pm.

Your family can enjoy live local music from 4pm on the HOTA Outdoor Stage, with limited space available. The event also features free kids’ activities, a variety of food trucks, and a spectacular fireworks finale at approximately 7pm.

To make the journey sustainable, consider walking, riding, scooting, or skating to the event. If driving is necessary, carpooling is encouraged to help reduce traffic and environmental impact. Check out HOTA’s Outdoor Events Conditions of Entry (Picnic Mode) for everything that you can and can’t bring.
