It’s time to party in the park, Moorooka Block Party is turning five!
Part of Brisbane Festival, Peggs Park is transforming once again into one great big celebration of culture and community, bringing back the sounds, flavours and stories for one of the south side’s most anticipated events of the year.
The day features a five-star lineup of live music, dance and performance from some of the country’s most energetic artists representing sounds from across the globe, from funk-driven beats and culture-filled traditions to unstoppable rhythms that will keep everyone on their feet. The schedule includes a Welcome to Country, followed by performances from Mark Lowndes, Footloose Fun Line Dancing, the Ubuntu Wellness Choir, The Steele Syndicate, Sean Choolburra, and Jason Heerah & The African Diaspora featuring Gervais Koffi.
Visitors are encouraged to arrive hungry, with the Block Party sizzling with culinary delights from a smorgasbord of global food vendors. Retail cravings can be satisfied in the mini marketplace, buzzing with unique stalls showcasing handmade crafts, art, and treasures from local and international artisans.
There’s also plenty to keep the whole family entertained, with interactive workshops and family-friendly activities rounding out the day. Come for the food, stay for the sounds, and soak up the good vibes.
