Looking for the ultimate family weekend out this September 2026? Redcliffe KiteFest returns to Pelican Park, offering Brisbane families a spectacular weekend of massive inflatable kites and world-class flying displays. Kids will love the dedicated kite-making workshops, food trucks, and pet-friendly atmosphere, making it a perfect spring day trip for all ages.
Redcliffe KiteFest 2026
This year’s festival is all about celebrating what makes KiteFest truly iconic – community, connection and the open sky. Families can enjoy food trucks, markets, a public kite flying zone, kids’ kite-making workshops, amusement rides, pony rides, face painting and plenty of open space to watch and marvel at spectacular kites soaring overhead.
Pack a picnic rug and make your way to Pelican Park for two days of colour, movement and breathtaking displays from talented kite flyers from across Australia and New Zealand. From massive inflatables to stunning artistic creations, the foreshore sky will come alive in the most spectacular fashion, with a dedicated Kite Flying Arena showcasing some of the country’s best flyers.
There’s plenty happening on the ground too, with Farmyard Friends, pony rides, amusement rides, face painting, kite-making activities, markets and a range of food and drink options providing plenty to keep the whole family entertained throughout the day.
Dogs are welcome at Redcliffe KiteFest – just keep them on a lead at all times and please clean up after them. To make the day as relaxing as possible, consider leaving the car at home and taking advantage of the shuttle bus options available.
