
Riverfire 2026 returns to light up the city skyline on Saturday 5th September 2026, marking the official launch of the annual Brisbane Festival. Local families and kids can look forward to a spectacular night of fireworks and Australian Defence Force aerial displays from popular viewing spots like South Bank.

Foti Fireworks return to light up the Brisbane skyline in a spectacular night of celebration, marking the official launch of Brisbane Festival 2026. This iconic evening brings the city together for an unforgettable display of light, sound and shared community spirit.
Brisbane kids, families, friends and visitors are invited to gather at their favourite viewing spots and enjoy the excitement as the fireworks illuminate the river and cityscape. South Bank remains a popular location for families, with the area fenced for public safety and subject to capacity limits.
A Royal Australian Air Force F/A-18F Super Hornet and a C-17A Globemaster III will conduct flypasts and flying displays* as part of Brisbane Festival’s annual Riverfire celebrations. The C-17A Globemaster III at approx 4:52pm & F/A-18F Super Hornet at approx 5:20pm
There will also be an Australian Army ground display and Royal Australian Navy Band performances.
Additional Citytrain, bus and CityCat services will operate on the night to help visitors travel to and from Riverfire with ease.
