Father’s Day in Australia is always held on the first Sunday of September. This year Father’s Day will be held on Sunday 7th September 2025.

Father’s Day Breakfast Buffet, A La Carte Dining and Putt Putt at Victoria Park
Victoria Park are set to host a Fatherโs Day like no other! The way to Dadโs heart is through his stomach, right? Spoil him with a mouth-watering breakfast buffet in Victoria Park’s Marquee. He can sit back and relax while soaking up the city skyline views as the kids enjoy the jumping castle, face painters and photo booth. There will be charity raffles too.
If hearty food such as a sirloin, wood-fired pizza or a burger is up Dadโs alley we recommend taking him to the Bistro for a feed! Located at the top of the precinct with views out to the city and beautiful garden surrounds itโs a top spot to unwind.
Plus after lunch you could always make it a fun day out for dad and challenge him to a game of putt putt, or show him how itโs done on the driving range.
Victoria Park is the perfect place for Fatherโs Day activities with plenty for the whole family to do. This will be popular so don’t forget to book!

Fatherโs Day 2025 โ Walkabout Creek
Enjoy a breakfast or lunch buffet with loved ones this Fatherโs Day at the peaceful Walkabout Creek Cafรฉ at Enoggera Reservoir.
To satisfy your hunger book in for either the 8am or 10am breakfast buffet where you can indulge in pastries, fresh fruit and yoghurt, bacon, eggs, and waffles, all washed down with juice, tea or coffee.
If mornings arenโt your thing, then a lunch buffet may suit you better. Breads, parmigiana (chicken or eggplant) sausages and beef will tickle your savoury taste buds, while brownies and apple and berry crumble will round out your meal at the Walkabout Creek Cafรฉ.
Donโt leave without taking the time to explore the area further โ enjoy a bushwalk, wildlife spotting or perhaps some water sports. For a small fee, you can even visit the animals at the Walkabout Creek Wildlife Centre.

Da Vinci Machines: Inventions Brought to Life
Have you got a creative dad, and inventive grandfather or a man in your life who is curious about everything? Yes – then take them along to Da Vinci Machines, a unique exhibition exploring the mind of the creative genius, Leonardo da Vinci. With items on loan from the Museum of Leonardo da Vinci in Florence, Italy, this exhibition showcases Da Vinci’s most iconic inventions, meticulously constructed from his original sketches.
Each museum will host its own unique collection of machines, including hands-on interactive experiences. Da Vinci Machines is now showing at selected City of Moreton Bay museums until the 2nd of November 2025.

Brisbane Sculpture Festival
Get a healthy dose of gorgeous gardens, and wonderful wildlife perfectly complemented with a side of art at the Brisbane Sculpture Festival. This free event at the Mt Coot-the Botanic Gardens invites visitors to wander through the gardens viewing the inspiring outdoor gallery adorned with sculptures from local artists. This outdoor exhibition is open daily until the 14th of October 2025, 8am – 4pm.

Wonderstruck at QAGOMA
Head down to QAGOMA and help dad get in touch with his inner child at Wonderstruck.
This immersive exhibition brings together more than 100 artworks by celebrated Australian and international artists with many of them interactive, playful and designed with families in mind.
Visitors can explore Pip & Popโs sparkling Rainbow Bridge, decorate Yayoi Kusamaโs Obliteration Room with dot stickers, and see everyday objects like cardboard boxes, shopping bags and stacking toys transformed into incredible works of art.
Wonderstruck is on now until the the 6th of October 2025.

Brisbane Serbian Festival
Enjoy something a little different this Father’s Day and celebrate at the Brisbane Serbian Festival in Dutton Park. Featuring live entertainment, delicious Serbian food, exciting rides, and Serbian dancing, there is no shortage of entertainment at this unique festival . You can also participate in competitions with fantastic prizes up for grabs.

Brisbane Motor Museum, Banyo
This Father’s Day zoom into the Brisbane Motor Museum to impress dad, (and the rest of the family), with a variety of cool cars on display. The current exhibition (on until the 14th of September 2025) is called V8 Muscle, and showcases an impressive range of vehicles with plenty of power.
The onsite cafe serves up yummy drinks and food – so be sure to stop by and have a bite to eat (the milkshakes and steak sandwiches are delicious).

Woodford Railway Heritage Train Rides, Woodford
Take Dad on a heritage train ride at Woodford Railway Station where the whole family can ride on the Heritage Railway using locomotives and carriages from the Australian Sugar mill railway systems of years past.
A return trip takes approximately 20 minutes and there are BBQ facilities nearby to make a day of it and have a picnic.
If you can’t make it for Father’s Day, don’t worry, the trains always run on the first and third Sunday’s of the month, 10am – 3.30pm.
