The Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers returns from September to October 2026, offering an unforgettable springtime escape for Brisbane families. This iconic festival features a spectacular floral parade, carnival rides, and beautiful garden displays across three fun-filled weekends. It is a fantastic destination for parents seeking memorable outdoor activities for kids.

Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers 2026

The Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers returns from Thursday 18th September to Sunday 5th October 2026, bringing three floral-filled weekends of flowers, food, music, and family fun across Toowoomba and surrounds. Now in its 77th year, Australia’s longest-running floral festival is still buzzing with energy.

Highlights include the iconic Grand Central Floral Parade, when thousands of spectators gather to watch colourful floats, carnival characters, roving performers, and street entertainers wind through the city in a celebration of floral artistry.

Over the three weekends, visitors can enjoy twilight garden tours, tasting tours, and stunning floral displays throughout Toowoomba. The event program features:

🌸 Weekend One – Floral Friday, Grand Central Floral Parade, Twilight Tours
🌸 Weekend Two – FEASTival, Tasting Tours, Behind the Blooms
🌸 Weekend Three – Weekend Table, Paw Parade, #TrEATS

Family-friendly attractions will run throughout the carnival, including:

Ferris Wheel at Queens Park Botanic Gardens, cnr Campbell & Lindsay Sts (Fri 18 Sept–Mon 5 Oct; hours vary — 3pm–8pm on Fri 18 Sept, 9am–5.30pm Sun–Thu, 9am–8pm Fri–Sat). Tickets $10 adults, $5 children aged 3–13, under 3s free with a paying adult, Companion Card holders ride free. Card payments only. Well-behaved dogs welcome on board!

Sideshow Alley with rides, games, and food stalls (Fri 18–Sun 27 Sept, various times)

Carnival of Trains at the “Glenvale” building, Toowoomba Showgrounds, Glenvale Rd (Sat 19–Sun 20 Sept and Sat 26 Sept, 9am–4pm, $5 entry)
