Everleigh Playground in Greenbank is a lovely little playground in a beautiful natural surround. There are shade sails over some of the equipment and there are several picnic tables, benches and public barbecue facilities here, as well as generous lawns for picnics. There are no public toilets in the vicinity of this playground.
Everleigh Park Playground
Everleigh Park features a sand and soft fall based play space featuring a fun ropes course, swings and a climbing fort all tucked into the middle of several beautifully landscaped green spaces.
The rope section is lot of fun, providing challenging balancing obstacles, wobbly bridges, net climbs. Similar to what is seen in bigger ninja playgrounds, these rope sections are all connected to each other in a circuit so kids can challenge themselves or each other to complete a circuit without touching the ground below. There are elements here that will be challenging enough for even budding ninjas and older Brisbane Kids, but even toddlers will enjoy testing their skills on some of the sections.
The large expanses of lawn here would be great for kicking a ball, throwing a frisbee or flying a kite too, and there are paths winding through the area for Brisbane Kids who enjoy riding bikes and scooters.
There is also a fun selection of swings here – a large basket swing and two seat swings.
The climbing fort is lots of fun for younger kids with several access points, multiple slides, stairs, bridges, a net section and musical elements as well as cubby houses. This playground will suit toddlers, preschoolers and younger primary aged kids but a few of the archways and access points might be a bit tight for older adventurers who might prefer to stick to the ropes and swings.
Imagination factor
This playground has plenty to offer for Brisbane Kids of all ages. The rope section is definitely impressive and unique element that can keep children engaged in challenging, risk taking and fun play for ages. Children will enjoy trying to work out ways for them to complete each of the elements and try to find better or quicker ways across each of the obstacles.
Although it’s a smaller scale, the play fort has plenty of elements packed into the space. There are different puzzles and games in some of the panels, an oversized xylophone with rubber mallets, sweet little windows in the cubby houses which all encourage imaginative play.
The playground boasts impressive landscaped gardens, lush green lawns and a rocky creek bed.
It’s definitely worth keeping your eyes peeled here – if you’re lucky you might be fortunate enough to spot some wildlife around this playground with kangaroos enjoying the lawns here too.
