Young children are some of our most vulnerable road users, and recent findings from Transurban’s latest car seat safety blitz found almost all car seats are installed incorrectly.
The latest blitz revealed a staggering 99%* of the seats checked were incorrectly fitted and needed adjustments to correct errors with tether straps, clips, twisted seatbelts or the angle and direction of the car seat. And in some cases, the car seat required total reinstallation.
Importantly, a correctly fitted child car seat can significantly reduce the risk of injury in an accident by up to 70%**.
