  • AboutBrisbane Kids Creative was created by me! Ngaire Stirling. I wont pretend to talk in the third person about myself, instead let me tell you a bit about me and how 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came about. At the time the domain name 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for purchase I was a stay at home mum in the middle of a degree centred around journalism and PR. a couple of years earlier I had been contemplating returning to my previous career in marketing management and for a while I even tried. 3 months into a new role and it was clear that I had no passion for my old life and to make the decision to quit easier, my almost 2 year old at the time was not coping with childcare. So, as a family we made the decision for me to return to becoming a stay at home mum. About 1 years later or so.. 110.232.142.129/~brisba22 came up for sale. My friends had often commented on my ability to know exactly what was happening in Brisbane for kids. I had my son enrolled in some awesome activities and we often visited some great destinations. I loved finding fun things for us to doโ€ฆ

Grandview Place Park at Carindale

Last Updated: October 5, 2023
View of the playground from the top of the tunnel slide at Grandview Place Park.

Grandview Place Park in Carindale is a new playground set off to one side of a big green space. There is seating and plenty of lawn for a picnic or ball games, but the biggest draw card is the 6m tall tunnel slide.

Although a smaller and unfenced playground, Grandview Place Park has a lot to offer.

The 6m slide is awesome fun. The steep climbing wall up to the slide is about the only thing that will slow down the number of times the older kids can zoom down the slide.

The main section of the playground has a bark base which is shaded in the early morning by large nearby trees. The play structure has a climbing wall, ladder, three platforms, a bridge, climbing net, two slides and two fire poles.

Around the structure there is a bouncy rocker, a spinner and several interactive play stations good for toddlers who are too small to climb. Off to the side there are two swings, once being a baby swing.

Thereโ€™s a flat concrete pathway around the perimeter of the green space perfect for walking, scooting and riding. Or, bring a ball as there is plenty of lawn to run around. Four fitness stations are spaced along the pathway.

Note – Unfortunately there are NO public toilets at this playground.

Imagination Factor at Grandview Place Park

This park is a fun place for all ages of kids. Brisbane Kids will enjoy pretending they are mountaineers climbing the steep slope while tracking over the mounds up to the large slide before sliding down; this is sure to get their adrenaline going.

The ample green space and nearby trees encourage smaller children to climb. They can make their way up the forts/platforms and over the bridge and nets while keeping an eye out for birds and other explorers. When itโ€™s time to make a quick escape, itโ€™s down a fire pole or one of the smaller slides.

Tiny hands can play shops, count on the giant abacus and chat with friends using the two-way speakers.

Accessibility at Grandview Place Park

Pathways and trees at Grandview Place Park.

Unfortunately, Grandview Place Park is an unfenced playground, with no toilets.

The main section of the playground is shaded by large trees early in the morning, but as the sun moves, it doesnโ€™t have shade for much of the day.

A flat concrete path runs around the perimeter of the bigger green space, which could be used for walking, prams, wheelchairs or scooters. Within the outer perimeter, you will find two different shaded picnic tables.

Note – the council has confirmed shade cloth is coming late in 2023.

What We Thought of Grandview Place Park

Green tunnel slide at Grandview Place Park.

We thoroughly enjoyed a morning at Grandview Place playground.

The slides were the highlight, especially the big 6m slide. We think itโ€™s a fabulous park for little explorers to swing, slide, seesaw and climb while older kids seem not to get tired of the giant slide. Next time, we will take our scooters also to enjoy the flat pathway.

How to Get to Grandview Place Park

Grandview Place Park is located on Grandview Place, Carindale.

TIP: The pathway and park is more accessible when parking on Skyline Crescent or Ridgeview Street.
