Located in the Pacific Fair shopping centre in Broadbeach, the new Hello Kitty and Friends Café is a cutesy, eye-popping slice of Tokyo that’s sure to be a hit with the kids. With its colourful décor, playful touches and food that tastes as good as it looks, it’s a fun spot for a family treat.
The Hello Kitty and Friends Café

The café is located in the food court but has its own dedicated seating area. Grab-and-go takeaway food is available from the cabinets, or you can dine in and order food and drinks (but not cakes) directly to your table.
The café fully embraces all things Hello Kitty, with pink walls, rainbow wallpaper, themed dishes and everything served with the signature Hello Kitty bow.
The staff are friendly and helpful, although the layout of the café can be a little confusing at first, with multiple counters and some sweet treats that must be ordered separately from the main menu.
The Food at Hello Kitty and Friends Café
The first thing you’ll notice is the cabinets stocked with brightly coloured cake pops, slices, muffins and sandos – the popular Japanese snack of a sandwich stuffed with fruit and sweet cream.
In addition to these sweet treats, there’s a full menu of Japanese favourites including bento boxes and poke bowls, plus sweet drinks like milkshakes, iced teas and sodas.
The Hello Kitty theme runs through all the food, which is either shaped like Hello Kitty or decorated with a Hello Kitty sticker or bow.
A Hello Kitty high tea on a tiered stand is also available. This would be a great treat for a special occasion with your little princess!
What We Ate at Hello Kitty and Friends Café
We tried the chicken bento box which came with crispy fried chicken, a Hello Kitty-shaped rice patty, mashed potato, dipping sauce, veggies and salad.
We also sampled a strawberries and cream sando, cake pop and strawberry refresher drink. The sando was deliciously indulgent and very filling – perfect for sharing. The cake pop was a hit with the kids, and the strawberry drink was refreshing without being too sweet.

What We Thought of Hello Kitty and Friends Café
Overall, the Hello Kitty and Friends Café is a fun and engaging spot for kids and families.
The décor is cutesy and colourful, and the food is genuinely tasty, making it worth a visit whether you’re stopping by for a quick sweet treat or a more substantial lunch.
While You Are in the Area
Want to get outdoors and explore the area further? Not only are there plenty of beaches in the area, there are also some great playgrounds to explore.
We think Kurrawa All Abilities Playground is pretty fantastic – it’s fenced, well shaded and as the name suggests is suited for all-abilities. Pratten Park is another playground ‘across the road’ and features a cool pedal vehicle track which encircles the playground.
