Welcome to a little climbers paradise! Johnston Park playground in Bulimba is bound to keep the most adventurous climbers challenged and happily balancing, jumping, spinning, swinging and leaping.

Integrated into the lush greenery and surrounded by towering trees, Johnston Park’s nature inspired playground is very inviting and relatively shaded by the established trees.
Packed with an abundance of climbing equipment, including nets, walls, ladders, forts and slides this playground is sure to keep busy kids engaged. At the top of the large covered slide, there is a cubby house/play area perfect for a tea party or imaginary games.
The quintessential line up of swings includes a tango swing so older kids and parents can join in. The double slide, seesaw and rockers will satisfy those kids who love kinaesthetic movement.
For older Brisbane Kids there is a basketball half-court and lots of open space for a frisbee, game of tag or ball game.
The garden beds and leafy surroundings not only give a relaxing feel, but they encourage nature inspired and imaginative play.
Note – There are NO toilets at Johnston Park.
Imagination Factor at Johnston Park
Leap from one balance log to the next and climb the many nets while making an obstacle course.
Find some leaves, twigs and rocks to make a nature inspired tea party or feast up in the cubby house area. Then zoom down the enclosed slide. Adults can enjoy relaxing under the large trees and soaking up the tranquil vibe.
Accessibility at Johnston Park
Johnston Park does not have accessible pathways into the playground, but it is relatively flat. The big trees provide natural shade with some formal and informal chairs/large rocks to sit down.
Unfortunately, this is an unfenced playground and there are no toilets.

What We Thought of Johnston Park
My little thrill seeking, nature loving 2.5 year old thoroughly enjoyed exploring Johnston Park playground.
The climbing challenges are endless, the large covered slide is a lot of fun, and the stairs and stepping logs are fabulous for gross motor skills. We will be back, but via one of the local coffee shops for takeaway caffeine as this park is great for young and old.
How to Get to Johnston Park
Johnston Park is located at 24 Johnston Street, Bulimba.
The playground is best accessed from Banya Street with additional parking on Johnston Street and Lang Street.
