Caravan parks and camping grounds offer affordable, memorable and family friendly holiday locations, but if youโre looking for something that doesnโt involve tangled tent poles or communal showers, yet still caters for families – Novotel Twin Waters Resort on the Sunshine Coast ticks all the boxes.
Accommodation Options at Novotel Twin Waters Resort
There are two accommodation options for families that wish to stay at Novotel Twin Waters Resort in Twin Waters:
The resort rooms have views of the gardens or lagoon and have one queen sized bed or two double beds. These rooms can sleep up to two adults and two children, but for more children, you will need to book a second room. They have a bathroom but no catering facilities, and no living or outdoor area.
The one and two bedroomย suites offer more room for families, and if you request the ground floor, your Brisbane Kids will be able to access the grassy area in front of your patio to run around. The one bedroom suites offer a king sized bed, spa bath and shower, separate living area with sofa bed, kitchenette (with sink, microwave and fridge) and a private balcony or patio. The maximum sleeping capacity for the one bedroom suites is two adults and two children.
The two bedroom suites consist of a one bedroom suite with an adjoining room that contains a double and single bed. These rooms are interconnecting via an external, lockable door. That way, both internal doors can be left open to make a larger suite. The maximum capacity for these suites is two adults and three children. If youโre holidaying with friends or extended family, it is possible to request neighbouring suites.
Dining at Twin Waters
There are two restaurant choices at Novotel Twin Waters Resort, as well as a simple coffee shop and takeaway outlet selling the usual fare, such as fish and chips or pizza.
Nouveau Restaurant offers a spectacular breakfast and dinner buffet daily, and a lunch buffet on Saturdays and Sundays. The breakfast buffet is usually included in the accommodation package (ask about โkids eat freeโ when booking) and includes cereals, bakery items, pancakes, fruit, barista made coffee, and a cooked breakfast of bacon and eggs.
Each night the buffet dinner has an international theme, and on Friday and Saturday nights there is plenty of Queensland seafood including Mooloolaba prawns and Moreton Bay bugs. Ask the wait staff for a kidโs activity pack to keep your Brisbane Kids occupied while you make the most of the buffet!
Alternatively, Aqua Lounge + Bar offers informal lunches, dinners, desserts, snacks and drinks. There is live entertainment every Saturday night with indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the resort pool and lagoon.
Novotel Twin Waters Resort Kids’ Club
The Twin Waters resort offers a well-run kids club for babies and children between the ages of 0 and 12 years. During school holidays and on weekends the kids club offers morning, afternoon and evening sessions for an additional cost. These sessions include morning tea, afternoon tea or dinner. The activities offered (such as craft activities or a disco night) change daily to keep your Brisbane Kids entertained. The kids club also has plenty of toys, Lego, dress ups and a playground so that kids donโt get bored. Donโt forget to book ahead as these sessions are popular. And book yourself in to the resortโs day spa while youโre at it!
Resort Activities at Twin Waters
Novotel Twin Waters pride themselves on being a family friendly resort and this is evident by the number of family activities on offer. As you drive in to the resort, you will pass a mini golf course for kids (bookings can be made through concierge). Inside the lobby, there is a block building station and table tennis to keep your kids amused while you check in (or out). The resort also has an outdoor pool, heated spa and a (man-made) lagoon and beach for swimming in. Brisbane Kids (with a bit of help from mum or dad) will love the water sports that are available on the lagoon, including canoeing and sailing catamarans, as well as the water obstacle course (think: Itโs a Knock Out). On dry land there are Segway tours to join or laser skirmish to try. And when youโve had enough of the great outdoors, your Brisbane Kids will love the arcade games room. If youโre still looking for something to do, you can walk, scooter or ride around the 36 hectare property.
