Queensland Ballet’s The Nutcracker

The Queensland Ballet presents The Nutcracker at the Playhouse, QPAC in December 2020 in the lead up to Christmas.

Once again this Christmas the Queensland Ballet are carrying on the beautiful tradition of performing The Nutcracker, a festive ballet to entertain the whole family, during December.

The Nutcracker is a everlasting ballet that follows Clara and her enchanted Christmas gift on a journey to the Land Of Snow and the Kingdom of Treats where she must dance for the Sugar Plum Fairy who rules the Kingdom. The magical journey takes Clara into a wondrous world where toys come to life, there are delicate dancing snowflakes and a King Rat and giant mice.

The Nutcracker is a timeless classic which has been performed to millions throughout the world and the version playing at QPAC this Christmas is of a world class standard.Choreographed by the amazing Ben Stevenson and with music by the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, the show features music by Tchaikovsky and the talented dancers from the Queensland Ballet.

Beautiful dancing, gorgeous sets and stunning costumes are the reason this ballet has become a Brisbane Christmas tradition and makes this show a must see ballet not just for lovers of ballet, but for the whole family this holiday season.

All shows are on at  the Playhouse, QPAC, Grey Street, South Bank. Performances are on the following days and times:

Shows will be on from the 11- 19 December 2020, with matinees and evening shows available.

The Nutcracker is 2 hours in duration and includes a 20 minute interval.
