You Will Need:

How to make pretend snow:
Step 1
Mix the bicarb and hair conditioner together until your snow is soft and crumbly but holds together when compressed in hand.
Step 2
Spread the snow onto a contained surface like a baking tray. We used a framed mirror for our base.
Step 3
Add sparkles to give an illusion of freshly fallen icy snow.
Now play! Create a mountain scene with Lego people on skis, an arctic landscape with polar bears and penguins, or village in winter with blocks for houses and small people or Lego figures. Or roll the snow into a soft snowball and head into the back yard for a snow ball fight!!!
Alternative Toddler Friendly Recipe (Non Toxic)
For younger Brisbane Kids, create this non-toxic snow.
You will need:
- 3 Cup Bicarbonate Soda
- ¼ Cup Water
How to make non-toxic pretend snow:
Step 1
Carefully add water to the bicarb, stirring constantly to avoid dissolving the bicarbonate. Continue adding water until the snow is soft and crumbly but holds together when compressed in hand.
Step 2
Add to the sensory play by placing the snow onto a mirror to reflect the snow, play scene and your child. This added dimension is a wonderful visual stimulation for little brains.
A trip to the snow without leaving your home will have your Brisbane Kids excited and engaged for hours! This is great sensory play and fantastic for their imaginations.
WARNING: Do not leave children unattended with the hair conditioner based snow. Hair conditioner is not to be consumed. Bicarbonate Soda can also be dangerous. Please seek medical attention immediately if snow is consumed.
