St Pius X | Co-Ed Catholic Primary School in Salisbury

St Pius X is a Catholic Primary School catering for boys and girls from Prep to Year 6. Located on a leafy three hectare site in Salisbury in Brisbane’s southern suburbs, St Pius X is a small, friendly school with excellent facilities, dedicated staff and an active parent community.

Curriculum

The teaching staff at St Pius X are truly dedicated to ensuring that each student is supported to achieve their best. In addition to the core curriculum, specialist music, LOTE (Japanese), sport and inclusive education teachers extend the students opportunity to learn. Students are encouraged to participate in inter-school sports and on-site extra-curricular activities such as soccer, tennis, vocal and instrument lessons and school choir. Students participate in regular liturgical celebrations and school Mass and are also encouraged to perform in Christmas concerts, Carols celebrations and at community events such as the school fete.

Facilities

Even though St Pius X is a small school, they have fantastic facilities including air-conditioned class rooms, a new school hall, tuckshop and uniform shop, library, computer room and large undercover areas. The school has a large oval, a variety of age appropriate play ground facilities and tennis courts. They also have on-site outside school hours care (OSHC) and vacation care, a supervised Stop, Drop and Go facility and off street parent parking. The school is also located directly behind St Pius X Church.

Values

St Pius X is a Catholic Primary School in the tradition of the Sisters of St Joseph and instils values of faith, inclusion, acceptance, respect and community. To facilitate the transition of younger students into the school, the older students are buddied with them and are all students are taught to be considerate of others and their environment. Students also participate in community events and older students regularly visit the local aged care centre.

School Community

The welcoming and active parent community at St Pius X come together for social events, fundraising – including our popular biennial school fete, to volunteer and to plan and help with projects to improve the school.
