The Cube is a massive digital interactive learning and display experience featuring 48 multi-touch screens which extend across two levels within the Science and Engineering Centre at QUT Gardens Point Campus.
The Cube
The Cube provides distinctive interactive digital learning experiences that convey Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) concepts. It’s an inclusive space for the QUT community and the wider public, promoting learning through exploration and discovery.
The immersive screens of The Cube provide an awe-inspiring experience, bringing visitors into close contact with the topic. The screens’ sheer scale and the graphics’ outstanding quality engross participants. Games, information points and experiments encourage everyone to interact with the content.
Rest assured, accessible toilets are in the same building as The Cube for convenience during your visit.
Current experiences at The Cube QUT
The Living Reef
The Living Reef provides an extraordinary interactive journey through the depths of the Great Barrier Reef, where advanced artificial intelligence controls the behaviours of vibrant marine inhabitants.
Physics Observatory
The Physics Observatory allows visitors to experience the effects of physics as if on other planets in our solar system. It includes tests on falling objects, a pendulum under different gravity conditions, an Orrey, Tesla’s coils, and Einstein’s gravity well.
Code-A-Bot
Code-A-Bot is an interactive digital game where you are responsible for programming robot workers to collect and sort rubbish, thus enhancing the efficiency of a waste recycling plant. You can collaborate with other players and their robots to improve efficiencies and achieve optimal results.
Dino Zoo
Step into The Cube’s Dino Zoo for a chance to come face to face with life-sized, scientifically accurate dinosaurs. Using artificial intelligence, these dinosaurs behave just like the real thing, based on specific parameters for each species. This is not your average dinosaur encounter – it’s an immersive experience that brings these ancient creatures to life like never before.
If you want more dinosaurs check out Where to Find Dinosaurs in Brisbane and Dinosaur Themed Playgrounds in Brisbane.
Chem World
Chem World offers an inspiring and hands-on exploration of the wonders of chemistry. This innovative project lets students engage in virtual chemistry experiments that are too risky to perform in classrooms. Students can immerse themselves in three interactive experiments within Chem World: Fireworks, Rocket Launch, and Macro-Micro.
Other Things to See and Do Nearby

My little Brisbane Kid enjoyed exploring the touch screens and playing the interactive games. We will drop by on our next trip to the area to experience the other offerings at The Cube.
