The Brisbane City Youth Ballet presents The Fairy Doll at the Brisbane Powerhouse in July 2019.
The Fairy Doll
The beautiful story of The Fairy Doll is being brought to life on stage by the talented dancers at the Brisbane City Youth Ballet during the Winter school holiday period.
Perfect for a first trip to the ballet and avid ballet fans alike, the enchanting one act ballet tells the story of Sarah who, one day while wandering through the woods, discovers a magic fairy ring. When the Fairy Princess Mia appears, she invites Sarah to come along with her to Fairyland where the magic and adventures begin.
On her arrival to Fairyland, Sarah meets the Fairy Queen and all of the magical creatures and fairies in Fairyland. Sarah spends the day dancing and having fun with everyone in Fairyland until she is told by the Fairy Queen that she must return home. Upset to leave, Sarah is then given a Fairy Doll by Fairy Princess Mia to remind her of her time in Fairyland and the friendship that they share.
A highlight of the stunning production is the beautiful sets and costumes which will have Brisbane kids of all ages swept up in the sweet story of The Fairy Doll.
An added bonus of going to see the Brisbane City Youth Ballet perform The Fairy Doll is that the ballerinas will come into the foyer to meet their fans after the show and you might even have the opportunity to meet, and get a photo with, your favourite character from the show.
Beautiful dancing, gorgeous sets and stunning costumes will enthrall the audience and take them on a beautiful journey which makes this show a must see performance not just for lovers of ballet, but for fans of The Fairy Doll during the school holidays.
The Fairy Doll Performances
All shows are on at the Brisbane Powerhouse, 119 Lamington Street, New Farm. Performances are on the following days and times:
โข Saturday 13 July @ 12.30pm, 3pm and 5pm
โข Sunday 14 July @ 10am, 12.30pm and 3pm
The show is 1 hour in duration and is suitable for Brisbane Kids aged 3 years and over.
