After the sell-out success of The Australian Ballet’s Storytime Ballet: The Sleeping Beauty and the amazing performances of Coppelia in Melbourne and Sydney last year, The Australian Ballet have decided to bring their production of The Storytime Ballet: Coppelia to Brisbane during the Easter school holidays and everyone should be excited!
Brisbane Kids will not want to miss this amazing production that is perfect for a first time visit to the ballet! The Storytime Ballet: Coppelia, is a special ballet with a special audience in mind! The Australian Ballet will be performing Coppelia, a ballet made especially for kids. While it will still have the costumes, music and dancing to the high standard expected from the Australian Ballet, it will also be interactive, include narration and everyone is encouraged to wear their favourite tutu and ballet shoes along to the show. The fact that it only goes for 50 minutes means that it is perfect for little lovers of ballet who would not be able to sit through an entire ballet.
The Storytime Ballet: Coppelia, is a story told byย narrator Dr Coppelius. He tells the story as he and and young lovers Swanilda and Franz, sneak into the magicianโs mysterious workshop and discover the secrets of his mechanical dolls.
Beautiful dancing, gorgeous sets and stunning costumes are the reason the whole family will love this ballet and we at Brisbane Kids are guessing that this will be the first of many ballets just for kids that The Australian Ballet will perform for years to come. One thing is for sure, after seeing this ballet your Brisbane Kids will be dancing around at home and begging you for ballet lessons!
Storytime Ballet: Coppelia Shows
The Storytime Ballet: Coppelia will be touring Australia in April and stopping in at The Brisbane Powerhouse in Brisbane so that Brisbane Kids will be able to see the ballet.
The only Queensland shows will be held at the Brisbane Powerhouse, 119 Lamington St, New Farm.

The Storytime Ballet : The Sleeping Beauty is 50 minutes in duration and is suitable for little ballet fans of all ages.
