Things To Do In Moreton Bay City With Kids
Ride on the Woodford Historic Railway
Visit the heritage-listed Woodford Railway and take the 20 minute historic ride through the hinterland. Train trips take place on the first and third Sunday of each month at 30-minute intervals from 10am to 3:30pm. When you visit Woodford, take the scenic drive through Maleny and Montville and enjoy all the country charm of small cafes and boutique stores.
Visit an animal sanctuary or environmental centre
Discover the hidden fairies at Kumbartcho Sanctuary, meet the resident Osprey family at Osprey House, or learn about Burpengary’s unique local area at the Caboolture Regional Environmental Education Centre.
Meet some cute farm animals
Both Trevena Glen Farm and White Ridge Farm will introduce you to some super cute and friendly farm animals. In between patting and feeding their friendly residents, you can also go on tractor rides, play in their playgrounds, play a round of golf and, of course, learn all about life on the farm!
The City of Moreton Bay is also home to Lyell Deer Sanctuary which as the same suggests, houses a range of rescue deer and other animals.
Bounce high at an indoor trampoline park
Reach new heights of entertainment at two of Moreton Bay City’s premiere indoor trampoline centres. Both Bounce and Revolution Sports Park will have them jumping for joy as they try out not only their floor to wall trampolines, but also the ninja courses and cliff jump too.

Redcliffe’s Settlement Cove is home to a wonderful (and free!) family-friendly lagoon pool which sits serenely alongside the bay. With shallow water play for young ones and manicured picnic and BBQ spaces surrounding it, the lagoon is a perfect oasis in Moreton Bay City for kids to cool down in.
Marvel at the migrating whales
Moreton Bay City is one of the best places in south-east Queensland to view the migrating humpback whales, so joining a tour anytime between June and October will almost guarantee a sighting of these majestic creatures. If the budget doesn’t extend to a tour, you can still enjoy the migration from the shoreline of Bribie and Redcliffe.

Tucked away from civilisation and deep within natural hideaways lies a number of popular waterfalls and swimming holes worth exploring. Over 150km of uninterrupted coastal bike paths means that you can spend a day with the kids riding bikes, enjoying spectacular scenery and visiting the many beaches, playgrounds, and attractions found along the route.
Unwind on Bribie Island
Throw a frisbee along its white sandy beaches, discover its history at the Bribie Island Seaside Museum, visit the colourful markets, bush walk through its national parklands, check out the playground at Woorim, or simply breath in the fresh air as you look out over the Pumicestone Passage. However you choose to spend your day at Bribie Island, you are bound to make a mountain of memories with the kids.
Visit the Caboolture Historical Village
Take the kids on a trip back in time as you discover the historic village in Caboolture. A fully immersive experience, they can visit an old time goal, general store, barber and more as they stroll through the vintage streets.
Discover the Redcliffe Peninsular
