
As the sun sets, the excitement builds at the Ekka. Your Brisbane Kids won’t want to miss these exciting family friendly events happening in the evenings throughout the ten days of the Ekka.

EkkaNITES
Nightly, during the Ekka, the Main Arena comes alive with EkkaNITES, a fun, family-friendly program, which will amaze, excite and entertain the whole family. Entry to EkkaNITES is free, and included with your Ekka admission. This year’s program features the following:
Buck the Bronco | 6.00 – 6.15pm
Witness Buck the Horse – the beloved Broncos Mascot, galloping around the arena putting on a show with rider Natalie Siiankoski in charge, a talented show jumper and Ekka competitor.
Aussie Dogs – Collies vs Kelpies | 6.00 – 6.15pm
Watch as two amazing working dogs (one kelpie and one border collie) display their unique skills and talents to get the job done while celebrating working dogs and the art of sheep management.
Farmer Dave and Rhianna Buchanan | 6.30 – 6.35pm
Farmer Dave and stunt rider Rhianna, will guide you through EkkaNites as your charming hosts.
Queensland Police Service Pipes and Drums AC/DC Tribute | 6.30 – 6.35pm
Prepare to rock out and enjoy a truly unique musical performance as the Qld Police Service Pipes and Drums take on Aussie classics in a fabulous AC/DC tribute.
Australian National Anthem | 6.35 – 6.40pm
Be upstanding and enjoy an amazing rendition of the national anthem featuring the talented Emma Irene (vocals), Liz Young (violinist), and eMDee on the didgeridoo.
Motorcycle Chariots | 6.40 – 6.45pm
Strap in for a high-octane display of modern-day chariots fuelled by Flair Action Sports. Chaos, stunts and thrills await all.
Coca-Cola Dance Cam | 6.45 – 6.50pm nightly
Dust off your very best dance moves as the Coca-COla Dance Cam scans the crowd – will you make it onto the big screen!?
A Brumby’s Run featuring Dave Manchon | 6.50 – 7.10pm
Renowned horseman Dave Manchon and the iconic words of Banjo Paterson join together to create a captivating arena show featuring Australia’s wild horses – the brumbies.
Smashing Bumpkins Karaoke | 7.10 – 7.15pm
Sing loud and proud with the rest of the arena for some karaoke fun, assisted by The Smashing Bumpkins, and presented by Pretty Woman: The Musical at QPAC.
Full Throttle Fury – Aussie FMX ‘Freestyle Firestorm’ | 7.15 – 7.40pm
Australia’s top freestyle motocross daredevils take to the arena to display gravity-defying flips, fire-fuelled stunts, and airborne acrobatics in a fast and fearless show which will keep you on the edge of your seat.
Full Throttle Fury – Hot Wheels Heros: Super Truck Show | 7.15 – 7.40pm
Watch the kids faces light up as life-sized Hot Wheels-inspired super trucks roar into the arena performing thrilling chases, epic jumps, and heart-stopping stunts.
Full Throttle Fury – Inferno Monster Truck | 7.15 – 7.40pm
Monster Trucks Australia bring to you the huge and monstrous machine driven by Matt MacCormack. It will be loud, adrenaline-packed and full of action.
Smashing Bumpkins Band | 7.40 – 7.45pm
Bop along to the high-energy covers band, the Smashing Bumpkins Band, as they belt out Aussie classics, rock anthems and plenty of other bangers.

Inferno Fireworks Spectacular and Combat Dragon Jet Car | 7.45 – 8pm
Be amazed and entertained as the night sky lights up at the Inferno Fireworks Spectacular. In addition to the fabulous fireworks visitors will also be treated to monster trucks, Roman-style chariots and the high-speed jet car racing against a wall of flame. Keep your eyes firmly open as the main arena is illuminated by an array of LED lights, lasers and more than 3,000 special effects. Stunts, fireworks, music and lights – what a way to end a day at the Ekka.
Meet the Stars Under the Stars | 8.00 – 8.15pm
When the show finishes congregate at the edge of the Main Arena to meet the stars of EkkaNITES – grab an autograph, snap a selfie or just say hello to these talented performers before you head home.
Sideshow Alley
Sideshow Alley | From sunset until the Ekka closes daily
Sideshow Alley is incredible at night! Even if they don’t venture onto any rides, Brisbane Kids shouldn’t miss the bright lights and exciting sounds of Sideshow Alley in the evening. Show them these sights from up above with a ride on the iconic Ferris Wheel.
