A trip to the movies during the school holidays is a great outing for families and with many cinemas now offering cheaper tickets it can be an outing you can afford to do once (or even twice) during the holidays.

Runt (rated PG)
Release date: 12 September 2024 in Queensland (nationally from 19th September)
An hilarious and hearfelt Australian family film set in the country town of Upson Downs, Runt tells the story of 11 year old Annie and her best friend, the adopted stray dog Runt. In an effort to save her family farm from ruin, the two set off on an adventure that takes them all the way to the World Dog Championships in London.

The Wild Robot (rated PG)

Rozzum 7134 (AKA Roz) is a futuristic robot who washes ashore on a deserted island. Here she meets an orphaned gosling who she names Brightbill and the two, along with a close-knit group of other misfit animals, battle to survive in the harsh environment and to save the island from a robotic invasion instigated by Roz’s manufacturer.
