Brisbane City Council Boondall Wetlands Environment Centre is now delivering free weekly Bush Kindy sessions. Bush Kindy is a preschool-aged program for children (3-5 years old) and adults to learn about nature and the environment through sensory-based nature play, art and craft, bushwalks, storytime and much more.

Bush Kindy is every Thursday of the school term between 10am-11am. This is a free activity though bookings are essential due to the nature of the activities. The program is designed with 3-5 year olds in mind. Book here

Brisbane City Council Boondall Wetlands Environment Centre
Bring your kids to Brisbane City Council Boondall Wetlands Environment Centre, where learning and fun come hand in hand. This interactive education centre is located in the heart of the Boondall Wetlands and offers a peaceful atmosphere for reflection as well as engaging exhibits. With admission being free, it’s a great opportunity for Brisbane families to enjoy a unique educational experience.
Boondall Wetlands is the largest protected wetland in South-East Queensland and the new state of the art environment centre has information and activities for all ages to learn about these wetlands before exploring them on one of the many trails. The main trail, which is wheelchair and pram-accessible, weaves through the wetlands, where you will be greeted with an abundance of bird life and a chorus of chattering insects.
Other things you need to know
- Brisbane City Council Boondall Wetlands Environment Centre is open Tuesdays to Sundays from 9am – 4pm and is free of charge.
- Activities are subject to weather and environmental conditions and may be cancelled on the day.
- All children must be accompanied and directly supervised by an adult. All adults and children please wear a wide-brimmed hat, secure and fully enclosed walking shoes, sun-smart clothing, sunscreen and insect repellent. Please bring drinking water and a snack or picnic lunch as there are no food outlets on site.
