Carvers Park in Park Ridge is a great destination if you’re searching for a park with multiple playground areas to explore. The park features playgrounds catering to various age groups, along with a learn-to-ride track, kickabout space and basketball half-court. Additionally, amenities such as BBQs, picnic tables, and toilets make Carvers Park an ideal spot for a fun family day out.
Carvers Park Playgrounds
The centrepiece of the first playground of Carvers Park is the Mountain Tower. Over four levels of fun, this structure stands 10m high and is best suited to children over six years old.
The tower provides multiple entry points and boasts two speedy tunnel slides to challenge the adventurous spirits of Brisbane Kids. The tower offers panoramic views through nets and bubble panels. Curious kids can also take on the linear climbing feature, endeavouring to cross the playground via nets and belts without touching the ground.
An orbit swing prompts kids to swing and whirl in all directions. Additionally, the park offers spinning and movement adventures with the gravity bowl spinner and bouncy gravity rider.
Moving further into the park is the compact but engaging learn-to-ride track with hills, roundabouts and plenty of traffic signs.
The second playground at Carvers Park is tailored to younger adventurers with a nature-based theme that complements the park’s wildlife restoration efforts. A soft-fall mound with climbing hand grips encourages kids to reach the top. At the summit, two embankment slides create a thrilling race to the bottom. A complex rope obstacle and net play area offer plenty to climb upon.
An adventurous trail made from Australian hardwood includes various obstacles that challenge balance. The toilets are here as well.
Following the shared pathway around the looped circuit, with 100-metre milestone marks to assist runners, visitors will find a basketball half-court and lots of fitness equipment. Walking around the bend onto Davidson Circuit, additional play spaces appear.
In this area is an adorable cubby house-style fort for toddlers, complete with a slide. Surrounding this is a springy see-saw and nature play elements. A flying fox will delight young children, and so will swings and basket swings.
Continuing past the kickabout space is another challenging, hardwood and rope-based obstacle course. Finally, this parkland ends with a dinosaur fossil lying hidden in the sand.
Imagination Factor at Carvers Park
This park has many links to the natural environment, encouraging children to explore their surroundings while improving physical strength and agility.
There are lots of opportunities for friendly competition, racing through the obstacle courses or up to the top of the Mountain Tower and down the speedy tunnel slides. These obstacle courses are a great place to play; the floor is lava.
Bikes, scooters, sand play equipment and balls are all valuable at this location.
Accessibility at Carvers Park
The shared pathway which loops around the area is flat and suitable for both wheelchairs and prams. There are accessible toilets at this location.
The bouncy gravity rider has armrests, footrests and a backrest, however, the sand base of the playground may limit wheelchair users’ access to the park.
