World Wetlands Day at Osprey House 2026
Celebrate World Wetlands Day at Osprey House with a family-friendly event focused on learning, discovery and hands-on fun.
Visitors are invited to explore the importance of wetlands and the vital role they play in supporting healthy ecosystems. Moreton Bay is globally recognised as a significant wetland area, providing habitat for a diverse range of fish, wildlife and more than 50,000 waterbirds. Keeping local wetlands healthy helps protect biodiversity and supports long-term sustainability across the region.
The day features a range of interactive, wetland-themed activities designed to turn learning into an engaging adventure. Highlights include an interactive Ocean Life Education display, offering a close-up look at living sea creatures, as well as nature crafts, guided walks and a sausage sizzle available throughout the day.
This event is a great opportunity for families to learn how the community can better care for local wetlands while discovering the incredible creatures that call these environments home.
