Testimonials

โ€œI would not be where I am today at all if it werenโ€™t for Reubenโ€™s tireless hard work and endless support! I can be proud of the trajectory of my career so far because you were my agent, and I am forever grateful for you!โ€ – Tharanya, TCA Alumni, Shantaram (Apple TV+), Year Of (Stan), Mustangs F.C. (ABC)

โ€œI joined TCA almost 10 years ago when I was just 15 years old and was very green to the industry. Reuben helped me on my journey to start auditioning for serious projects, which led me to quickly securing my first job less than a year later as a supporting role in the TV series โ€˜Nowhere Boysโ€™.

Not only has he been there to support my journey, Reuben has always had my best interests at heart and not to mention been my number one fan helping me to succeed and achieve greatness.

Reuben has always been there day and night to help, whether Iโ€™ve been nervous for an audition or even stressed for a role. Even in times of struggle, he has remained reassuring and stuck by my side for anything Iโ€™ve had to go through in my acting career.โ€ – Liam, TCA Alumni, Nowhere Boys (ABC), Sunflower (Cannes Film Festival)

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the role of a talent agency? The role of a talent agency, like the TCA, is to submit performers for professional auditions, negotiate contracts and provide ongoing support to the performers it represents. Every day the TCA gets contacted by Casting Agents looking to audition performers for different professional projects. They will send what is called a โ€˜briefโ€™ which breaks down all the roles they are seeing actors for. Your agent will choose the appropriate talent to suggest for the appropriate roles. This is based on several factors, such as your hair colour, your height, your age, what skills you have etc. The Casting Agent will then decide who they would like to see for an audition.

What sort of projects does the TCA receive briefs for? The TCA receives briefs for all types of projects including feature films, short films, TV series, TV commercials, musicals, plays, operas and online and corporate videos. The TCA regularly receives briefs from leading networks including Netflix, Stan, ABC, SBS, Disney Plus, and leading Australian theatre and musical theatre producers.

Is everyone who applies for the agency accepted? No, not everyone who applies for representation is invited to join the agency. Representation is highly competitive and approximately a third of applicants who audition are invited to join the agency.

Can you guarantee me auditions or jobs? Agents cannot guarantee auditions because the decision of which talent to see for an audition is made by the Casting Director of an individual project. Your agent will work hard to submit talent for roles and secure opportunities, but the final selection is with casting teams.

How do I join? To be considered for representation by The Talent Company of Australia, young performers need to either attend an in-person Screen Test Audition or submit a Self-Tape Screen Test Audition. They hold Screen Test Auditions in Melbourne and Brisbane throughout the year and accept Self-Tape auditions anytime.

Head to The Talent Company of Australia’s website to register for their next in-person sessions or fill out an online enquiry form to receive information about how to film and submit a self-tape.
