Glider Park in Morayfield is a nature-themed playground within the Kinma Valley estate featuring two large play towers, lots of climbing opportunities, a basketball half-court, plenty of greenspace, BBQ and picnic facilities and even a toilet!
Glider Park Playground
Nestled within the developing Kinma Valley estate in the City of Moreton Bay is Glider Park. Wide concrete paths lead to this sprawling playground, which flows over several areas. At the top, you will find two large play towers connected by a rope tunnel bridge. Escaping back to ground level can be achieved by sliding down a big, metal tunnel slide.
While the metal slides do receive some shade, please use your discretion when visiting this park during the heat of the day and using the slides. This is also a very fast slide, so use with caution.
Several rope obstacle courses and a hammock can also be found in this top level and present a fun challenge to users, to see if they can make it from one end to the other without touching the ground.
A soft-fall embankment assists park goers to navigate up and down the levels via foot-holds, ropes and other fun means, and here you will also find a wide embankment slide and a climbing wall. This part of the playground is covered by shade sails.
At the foot of the slides and climbing area you will find a dry creek bed, logs to balance on and some cute animal statues resting on rocks.
Further down the bottom of the park is where you will find the basketball half-court (which has a netball hoop on the back of it) and a large grassy kick about area.
There are wide concrete paths connecting the play areas, as well as some more natural, rocky connections.
Two other picnic shelters are located at the top of the play area, and this is where you will find the toilet.
Two bike racks are located at the park, so bringing the bikes or scooters is a great option for getting to the park and expelling some energy.
Imagination Factor at Glider Park
The imagination of children can run wild at this northside playground. Will they be explorers with binoculars and magnifying glasses looking for insects, or perhaps they will be budding sporting stars practicing their ball skills on the grassed areas.
The large area lends itself to an epic game of tiggy or hide โn seek, or maybe even a game of Floor is Lava.ย
Accessibility at Glider Park
Glider Park would not be considered a very accessible park. While there are wide, concrete pathways throughout the play area, none of the play equipment is inclusive.
There are however several shaded picnic shelters throughout the park. The majority of the flooring is soft fall, with a small area of bark, so getting around is not too difficult, though the multi-level layout could pose an issue for some, especially if you are visiting with small children.
This park is only partially fenced and is spread over several levels, so if visiting with young children or โrunnersโ you will need to keep a close eye on them.
An accessible toilet is available onsite.ย

While You Are in the Area
If you are a local you have probably already been to CREEC, but if you haven’t you should really check out this large, fully fenced, all-abilities playground and environment centre.
For toddlers, perhaps check out Buchanans Park in Burpengary or Symphony Crescent Park.
What We Thought of Glider Park
This park has a spacious, natural feel with plenty of climbing opportunities and lots of areas to run around in. While the primary school children are well catered for, there is a distinct lack of play equipment for toddlers, which may be disappointing to those visiting with youngsters.
Overall, this is a wonderful addition to this new estate, which will see many happy families spending time outdoors. ย
How to Get to Glider Park
Glider Park is located at Fig Tree Esplanade, Morayfield, in Stockland Kinma Valley.ย For best access turn off Oakey Flat Road onto Jacko Place, then take the second right onto Fig Tree Esplanade.
