The roots of Halloween go back far beyond modern American traditions. At Brisbane Kids, we are very aware lots of families not only enjoy Halloween but would like ideas on how to celebrate it. To us, it’s just another excuse to have fun, dress up and be silly!

Our calendar is brimming with Halloween events for kids in Brisbane this year, and as Halloween falls on a Thursday in 2024, there will be a lot of events being held over the entire weekend in the lead up to and even the weekend after Halloween.

What: Tee off amidst the creepy clowns of Carn-evil, then venture into the otherworldly fun of Alien Invasion. As you navigate the VP Graveyard, stay vigilant—the friendly zombies might just reach out for a ghastly handshake!

🎃 Halloween Spooktacular @ The Morgue at Rochedale
When: 5-9pm, Saturday 26th October | 2-9pm, Sunday 27th October (Family Fright Fest) | 5-9pm, Thursday 31st October | 5-9pm, Friday 1st November | 2-9pm, Saturday 2nd November 2024 (Family Fright Fest)
Where: Rochedale Tigers RLFC, 956-1028 Underwood Road, Priestdale
What: This event features three exciting mazes: a kids’ maze (entrance at the side of the field), a general maze for all ages (entrance at the front of the clubhouse), and an optional super-scary maze, recommended for those 12 and older. Visitors will also enjoy a variety of food and dessert trucks, a bar, raffles, and plenty of fun kids’ activities, including the popular candy cannon. On Family Fright Fest days, there will be market stalls, extra food trucks, family entertainment, kids’ activities, face painting, a bouncy castle, and pumpkin carving competitions.

🎃 Halloween at The Ginger Factory
When: 9am – 5pm, Monday 28th October – Sunday 3rd November 2024
Where: The Ginger Factory, 50 Pioneer Rd, Yandina
What: In an event packed with thrills and chills for the whole family, and where everyone is encouraged to dress in their best spooky costumes, The Ginger Factory will transform into a Halloween wonderland filled with exciting family fun. On 31st October, little trick-or-treaters can collect sweets as they explore the grounds. Each day features the Haunted House in the barn, the eerie Spooky Trail, and a Graveyard for the bravest visitors.

Where: Caboolture Showgrounds, Caboolture
What: Bring the whole family for a great night out at the Annual Halloween Twilight Market, with a large array of stalls. Trick-or-treating for the kids. Come dressed as your favorite character, see if you can win the Best Dressed Comp and enjoy the large assortment of Food stalls, sweet and savoury.

🎃 Halloween Haven @ Morayfield Indoor Sports
When: 26 October 2024, 3pm – 9pm
Where: Morayfield Sport & Events Centre, 298 Morayfield Road, Morayfield
What: Enjoy an evening of spooky surprises, fantastic costumes, and Halloween fun at Morayfield Indoor Sports that you won’t want to miss! 🎃 Village of the Damned
When: 31 October 2024, 5pm – 9pm
Where: Caboolture Historical Village, 280 Beerburrum Road, Caboolture
What: Visitors of all ages are invited to dress up and join in the festivities, which include interactive displays, static displays, some trick or treating, scares, and a mini mystical market for all your enchanting essentials. A special feature for this year’s theme, “Village of the Damned”, you can join in for a zombie walk through the village, ending in even more zombie fun with a lively Zombie Rave with DJ Rotting Flesh (AKA: DJ Danny).

What: On Halloween, Cavill Lane in Surfers Paradise will be transformed for one massive day and night of spooky festivities. With free entry*, you’ll be immersed in a haunting experience as daytime fun turns into nighttime scares.

🎃 Samford Spooky Spectacular
When: 31 October 2024, 4pm – 8pm
Where: John Scott Park, 33 Main Street, Samford Village
What: Visitors can enjoy trick-or-treating along Main Street, groove to the tunes of a live band, and compete in the Monster Mash Costume Competition. The event also features a fog-filled graveyard, a haunted pirate ship jumping castle, and bewitched market stalls. Where: Sanctuary Cove, The Docks Precinct, Masthead Way, Hope Island
What: A free, fun-filled event at Sanctuary Cove featuring DJ Drac spinning spooky tunes, face painting, fairy floss, popcorn, and kids’ karaoke. There will be plenty of games to keep the little ones entertained, along with exciting prizes for the best-dressed.
